A little slow of late.Hello. Any updates on these?
I've prepared the drawings for the tweeter housing, which will mirror the mid bass design, only 2/3 the size. Haven't CNC these yet...maybe later this week. Regards. Andrew.

Tweeter parts CNC'd and collected today. Hopefully will glue up this weekend.
Thanks for the update.
Are you planning to keep the TPL plastic back cover on, using the section back space as chamber, or other?

Thanks, no.
It will be removed, and I'll fill the wood chamber with wool dampening.
Bass and mid bass back from spray painting, with satin two pack poly and satin black on facia.
I will discard Beyma metal tweeter horn and design my own CNC'd ply version.

I'll create a small bracket to secure the driver to the rear of the horn. The driver rear housing will be discarded.
The horn section will then be inserted into the larger housing, secured from underneath.
Need to taper the horizontal sections.
Getting there.

your horn for the beyma tpl150 looks very nice .
is it the same size and flare as the original ?
is the reason for making your own only for looks or are you aiming for better response / dispersion ?
i am very curious how the new enclosure/horn for the tpl150 measures compared to the original horn.

Thanks Hum
Two main reasons:
1. looks...the whole rig is lovely Euro Birch ply
2. sound...we want to eliminate any possible ringing. I'm not targeting different dispersions at this stage...though the horn could be sold down the track with more advanced profile. I can promote this small horn via CAD/CNC file sale.
Kindly
Andrew

+1
Tweeter housing glued up, weighed down by $3000 Tannoys...!
Glad you found some use for those ol' drivers...
If this project turns out nicely, I think it would be a great service to the DIYA community, if you would fully document and publish this design (in the public domain) for others to copy (like we see on PE or AVS).
