I wonder why you get a lot of problem on this,,have you replace the defective ,,getting dc on output maybe you got problem or short on layout,commonly on tl071 tracks check voltage on 5.6v zener if they are balance,,bias is negative (Vss) reference

i used orignal cores which detex audio used 2 cores parallel 2 srx speakers on 2 ohm load
NO ISSUES with amp heatwise and sound

Why is 1n4148 not suitable? It has a trr of 4ns.
Should the gate diode be a schottky type?

Trr 4ns but at 400mA current will heat. 1N5817/5819 has 1A will do just fine or MUR120 the best, low Trr and 1A (this is what i use in my comercial amps)
