Elevators and shaker tables, I think
*edit* there’s a thread around here that has accumulated several SIT data sheets. The Tokin sheets are pretty interesting. Lots of interesting uses.

I'm waiting to finish growing of some wings, then I can make SIT US thingie, to lead me while I'm flying in the dark

One SIT gain board down. I realize I soldered in the 22r gate resistor. I’ll either clip it out or bolt into the board for that nice clean look. 😉

do not forget hsnk for IRF510
you can leave that 22R for good look, heatshrink second one and solder ditto to SIT gate

Thanks for the tip on the 22r. It does look nice on the board. 😉
Absolutely will add the heat sink for the IRF510. Thanks ZM. These boards are more form than function at the moment. I’m making sure I can fit everything in my chassis’s in full mock up form.

So I made the mistake of looking at IXYS's sheet on mounting SOT227 devices and they made it sound like the silicone grease I got from MOUSER is not recommended.
They recommend DOW CORNING TC-5022 though every expensive a small amount - Dow Corning TC 5022 Thermally Conductive Compound 3.5g - modDIY.com
THEN the next level is an Indium pad. I know this is most likely overkill - I can see ZM's eye rolling towards the ether ..
Indium Foil Cooling Thermal Pad Alternative to Thermal Paste/Grease fo – Cold & Colder
I doubt we are running these parts at anywhere near the heat level these recommendations are considering but it is always fund to do something ridiculous in DIY audio.
I was planning on using the silicone stuff I recently got from MOUSER before reading these specifications sheet.
Made it sound like using any paste required very careful application.
So is even considering this stuff a flight extreme audio kookery?
What are others using?

I used Wakefield-Vette Type 120 silicone that I got from Mouser, which is what I have used for all devices. I didn't even think about checking IXYS's requirements.
No problem so far.

so do

I just typically use Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut. It's a high-end paste for use with CPUs and other computer applications. Pricey compared to others, but has always worked well for me.So I made the mistake of looking at IXYS's sheet on mounting SOT227 devices and they made it sound like the silicone grease I got from MOUSER is not recommended.

I finally got around to replacing the under-ventilated top covers for my monoblocks. Another homage to Digital Do Main… lot more holes now, along with some more bling. They’ve definitely helped lower temps.

methinks that you need more work on that ddomain signs
get them to engraver and engrave on symbol lines "Tnx to Papa!"

with that logic, I could badge any of my amps as Motorola!!!!!!! or Tokin!!!!!!!!! or IXYS!!!!!!!! or IR!!!!!!!!!!
ok, at least one I can badge PASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I was looking at more as the ‘SIT’ symbol rather than the Digital Do Main logo. By homage I meant, “look, here’s another SIT symbol on top of an amp!” I’ve seen a few others do it, so making sure I received no credit for originality.
Yes, I DO need to add a TTP (Thanks to Pa) text somewhere 🙂

not saying that I'm informed fully, but that SIT symbol seems absolutely unique for Tokin factory
everyone else were using sorta regular symbol, with arrow placed on gate
so, Tokin!!!!!!!
(damn greenhorns)

Nishizawa used it as early as 1978 (at least as early as I could find). I’m going with him on this one 😀
