The Singing Bush Tips 'n' Tricks

Finally got the monoblocks finished up. New faceplates and some minor wire rerouting. Also swapped the interface material under the transistors with some thermal grease. That change plus the trial babysitters I constructed have made a huge difference. Thanks for the recommendation ZM!

Front plates are a play on the recent Sony DIY design. Went with a green led indicator in tribute to ZM 🙂

Hyper-FUGLY, Cody!! 😱
Everything FANTASTIC! "V" front panel il superb, layout and wiring perfect:up:

I noticed today that one of my green LEDs (buffer CCS ref, I think) burned out in the right channel. None of the key measurements have shifted, and I see no funny business happening. Important to replace immediately? If so, any specific 3mm greenie I'm looking for?

just compare voltage across LED string, between channels

that is IRF gate (or gate resistor) ref. to GND - practically series reg for buffer positive rail (so no CCS of any sort)

each LED is having ~1V93 drop, so you'll see it right away, if there is difference

funny - if one is Dodo in usual way - not conducting, all other shouldn't lit ...... so logic is that led in question is probably shorted - either gone short Dodo ( raaaaare occasion) or you messed up with shortie beneath

LEDs are generic 3mm diffuse Green, best possible as silent voltage references

check it and replace if needed

All set. I just went ahead and replaced it with another I had (a bit too tight for me to measure first). Didn't see any shorts on the backside, but once removed it does light and measure 1.7v. Possible it was lit, but just not shining like others.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
