maybe

I'm not sure about the qa-1150 but on the qa-1200 there
is a panel @ the back which opens and gives you some
buttons to play with..

+ - select menu reset

on the qa-1200 if you press and hold select then press +
this switches from vga source to video source.

if its not select and + then maybe someother combination..

hope this helps..

Hello

I'm new to this list. New to panels also.
Glad i found it,looks like a lot of cool
panel people hang here.

Uvodee, Looks like you are the cable guru for the Spectra and others. Are you still making vga cables for the Spectra C
1992 vintage?
Please contact me,as i need one. No time to build one right now.

ohp info

anyone in need of the original specs/manual of the dukane 4003 ohp?
look what i got in the email today ......

"Although the manual for the 4003 is not available in electronic form, we have an identical model that does have one located at the link below. The model 410P was exactly the same projector that we made and sold to Infocus under their name. Everything in the manual is exactly the same except for the labels that say Infocus. Thank you.

Sharp QA-1150

I have a Sharp QA-1150 without a remote also. To get it to work, you have to press all 3 buttons (select, up, dwn) simutanouly several times and it should work after that. I need to know how to make the VGA cable. I saw the printout, but what kind of cable should I start out with, and where can I get the connector.

Hi,

To make the VGA cable is very simple - you need the scanned images of the wiring diagrams posted earlier in this thread, a solder iron and a few simple components. I live in the UK and bought my parts online from www.cpc.co.uk for £15.31 inc. VAT and delivery. I've made it and it works great!

To see the 5 parts you need just type the following part numbers into the search box on their web site - you'll even get pictures of each one aswell!

1. CN0077966 (High Density 15 Pin D Plug @ £1.33)

2. CN0078066 (High Density 26 Pin D Plug @ £1.23)

3. CNDH9B66 (Black Plastic D Hood, for 15 pin plug, @ £0.27)

4. CNDH15B66 (Black Plastic D Hood, for 26 pin plug, @ £0.29)

5. CS0960466 (25 Core MULTICORE Computer Cable @ £4.92)

Good luck, Rich

Thanks for the offer. I tried to get hold of you off-list first but no
luck. Another member jumped in and helped me.

I do have another problem. My Spectra C connected to a Toshiba
latpop will not display properly.

My settings in the laptop;
I have two display modes in the hardware setup of the laptop.

1) Simultaneous mode (both external device and laptop screens display at the same time. It defaults to 600x800 res. and cannot be changed. I know the Spectra cannot handle this .
2) External mode (No laptop screen display, external monitor
should display something here). Cable pinouts were checked
and they match what another poster showed with a diagram.

Using mode 2, a nice display from the laptop appears on the panel
during the first 30 sec. of bootup. After the Windows 95 logo appears, the panel reverts back to its blue Spectra logo.

I have the resolution in the computer set to 480x640.

Something going on during bootup by windows causing a problem?

Do i have a bad panel ? The thing is in near new condition.

Going to try the panel on another puter in the mean time.
I'm no computer guru, just dangerous with one ;-)

Stumped
:bawling:

how is your panel doing?

The Spectra C is doing great now, once i figured out how
to boot up in 640x480 resolution. I cannot monitor my
laptop screen at the same time, but i can live with it for now.

I purchased the TV-4000 Home Theater down converter
which allows me to watch DVD,VCR and TV now.
Could have gotten a better panel to do this, but i have
other uses for it later anyway.

All i need eventually is a brighter OHP and screen.
The 2800 lumen 3M i have is ok,but brigher would be better ;-)
The white shower curtain is funky but not bad for a beginner.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions.
The cable you built for me really got me going.
I'm a happy camper now 😀

Hamdude

cable ps cable ps

Ok i sent another cable out yesterday to some guy in this forum. Thanks!

now i have more left, if any of you need the cble for the spectra plus or C, contact me.

another thing: i know it's christmas and everybody is busy but.....
if someone could post here the schematic of the output of the sharp 2500 powersupply , you know the cables with their value and numbers inside the pin connector, that would get me going with a 4th panel. Thank You guys!

need some help

Glad I could help so many with the scans of the Sharp pinouts.

Hopefully, someone can return the favor...

Specifically, I need the pinouts for my Apollo Vision Q2 projection panel. The Apollo VGA input has the same number of pins as the Sharp panels do, but my sharp cable will not work with it, so the pin configuration must be different.

If anyone can provide the pinouts or has a spare Apollo cable kicking around, please let me know.
Thanks, and Happy Holidays!

hey,

can you tell me how you got it to bootup? for now, i connect my computer to another monitor. once it's done booting, i move the VGA cable to the LCD panel. this is quite annoying, because i need a separate monitor nearby to boot up my computer on the projection panel. my computer is on 800*600 (i have a z-250), but it disappears after 30 seconds.

thanks.

I just go into the Control Panel/Display Settings and drop my
"area settings" to 640 x 480 and then reboot while connected
to the Spectra C panel. Any higher resolution makes the Spectra C
go back to its blue Intro Screen.

I also had to go into Control Panel/System/Device Manager/ "Property Resources" tab and uncheck the "use
automatic settings" box. When i start the computer now, it will
always boot up in the 640x480 resolution. Kind of a crappy
resolutuon for stuff from the pc, but hey the panel at least works now for great TV/DVD and VCR movies.

I plan to upgrade to a higher resolution panel now that i see how
good these things work for awsome inexpensive Big Screen movies. I will probabley give this one to the Grand Kids for their
PS 2 Games. Right now they are jealous of "grandpa's" system 😉
They all came over to watch football on the holidays. The son-in-laws "Grand Theft Auto" looked great too. Now he hates to play it on his wimpy 27 " TV 😉..😉

Sorry for the late response, but i was on vacation for two weeks.
Hope this helps. 😉

THANKS BRAXTON!!!

Wanted to thank all who post in these forums!!!
Used all of your information to by correct panel's Sharp 1500
And found Ask Impact24, because of your pinout scans, I have a shot at projector for under 150, this is huge and you should give yourselves pat on the back for home theatre expertise!
Thanks Greg(uvoodee u should sell sharp cables on ebay, you'd make a fortune(25 a piece!!and that's a favor for a newbie like me)
