Lightning,
For some reasons there are many Nview units on Ebay without proper cables. I happened to have bought one such. But don't worry. First, just go to Active Electronics buy a DB15 female VGA connector, which has 2 rows connecting points. Next, cut one end of your VGA cable off and follow the pinouts posted by Fender4 using a low power solder iron to complete the job. The posted pinouts are correct and the cable works. Then you have to change your computer display to VGA mode. Failed to do so will cause the windows to crash at start up and the display return to the Nview logo.
Have fun!

VGA Cable success
I have succesfully made a connecting VGA cable using Fender4's pin diagram. 😀 The only mod I had to make was put in one extra wire (pin #11) because my VGA cable had none. I beleive that's the power signal one. I have tested the panel with still images as well as full motion DVD movie, it works quite well. Thank you for the help. Can someone point me in the direction of where to find the distances between all the parts, here's my setup:
From back to front:
120v cooling fan, 300w Halogen projection bulb with socket, fresnal, LCD screen, fresnal, Kodak Ektar projection lens. I have been succesful at projecting part of the LCD just by adjusting the distances free hand. I am wondering if there is an easier more efficient way of doing this.
Also what is the purpose of the second fresnal the one after the LCD screen? (Do I even need it?)
The first fresnal focuses the light through the panel onto the lens right?
Last, but not least: Is it a good idea to have the light bulb directed straight on to the panel?

Projector Pinouts
I'm looking at buying a projector with no available pinouts or info other than a pic of the input/output sockets (see attached). It looks like a 26pin--are these all standard, and would someone be willing to build me a cable to VGA? I'm not sure if I could solder onto those little connectors...
Does that look like the same connector? Otherwise, I think I may be out a few hundred bux....

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

cable
I also have a missing VGA cable. My Spectra came with MAC II cables. Presently, I am using a standard video cable into the LCD and it works fine. However, I have purchased a TV3000 VGA Theater Up Converter w/built-in TV tuner (line doubler). Because my cables won't fit, I can't use it and I experience both macrovision and some screen door problems. My picture would be very good if I could just get a cable. I went to CompUSA today and found nothing. It was supposed to have one of those Y-cables. I called Inventory Solutions, where I bought it, and they said they could probably help me. I plan to go there either Wed or Thurs.

Yes, you can put me down for a cable. I'm still going to go over to Inv Solutions and try to trade cables and with yours, I'll have a spare.

Pinouts
I have the cable for the Sharp Panel projector and a multimeter and can make a custom cable. What I need is a power supply for mine. Maybe we can trade if you can find another PS for it...

You don't need to find the pinout with the multi-meter we already have the offical sharp version scanned out of the manual on this thread. As far as the power supply goes any powersupply that can output 12 volts at 2 amps will work I've tested mine with both my 1500 and my 1150. You can get the power plug that fits the socket at radio shack. WARNING: BE SURE TO GET THE POLARITY RIGHT!!!
I've recently replaced my Spectra C with a Z115 which has all the correct cables. The Spectra was missing cables and when I got the correct cable from Inventory Solutions, the ports were bad. The color was also not quite right. So, I traded it for the Z115 which is much better.

Could someone help me with some of these questions please?
I have a Sharp QA-1150 with no remote. I built the VGA Cable using the scanned images posted earlier and that's working great.
1) However, I can't get the video in to work and I'm guessing that's because I need the remote to switch between input sources - is that right?
2) There are 3 small yellow "things" next to the video in port labelled tint, brightness and color which can be adjusted. I have tried changing these in VGA mode but there is no effect. So are these only for the video in source? In which case how do I change the brightness in VGA mode as the picture at the moment is quite dark and I've had to up the contrast to compensate?
3) I've played around with the V-sync, H-sync, Contrast, and Frequency fine but what does the phase function do. When I select phase and press the up/down buttons nothing happens.
4) Finally, what is the serial in port for, i.e. what do I connect to that?
Many many thanks in advance, Rich
