I got my bulb today as well 🙂 good job guys!
but I have a problem! I installed the new bulb into the housing today, and the bulb works great, but the projector doesnt! the bulb will come up for about 15 sec or so and than will turn itself off, and the lap LED will start flashing indicating that it overheated! is it that the bulb is 400w instead of 370w? and its hotter than the stock one, and triggers the temp sensor?
I would really appreciate it if someone could help me with this!
Thanks

reasons may be overheat, which could be caused by cooling system, such as faulty fans, inefficient fans, or clogged filters.
I have checked all of them and everything seems to be in order. the only think I can think of would be add another fan somewhere or find and relocate the temp sensor.
Thanks for the help 🙂
I did some tests and I dont think its a temp sensor anymore. I took the lamp out and connected to the ballast, and powerd it on, the lamp fired up (and damn its bright!) but it did the same thing again, after about 15 sec, it will turn off and lamp LED will come out. Did I maybe install the bulb wrong? are the ground wires suppose to be connected in a very specific way? .... I will take pictures later and post 🙂
Thanks a lot guys!

I got a little muffler mender a few mm's below the arc of the bulb during the install. Will this affect its functionality? Should I try to chip it off?
Hi SausageRocket
can you test the voltage and current of the lamp when it work but not start? before 15 sec.
Hi Mclorkus

Hello, I got the Jys bulb too work as you can see in the picture, but there is no screen, it just projects a blank white image. I opened it up and saw that the LCD's are working.
When I start up the projector it gets brighter and then it starts to pulse (flash) in a constant pattern, I'm not sure what's going on.
Nothing is projected, not the Proxima logo or anything, and I have my Xbox hooked up to the Video 1-Svideo connection. I get the audio from that but I don't get the video. I've checked all the connections I can't tell what's going on... 😕
Anyone know what might be wrong? Help is greatly appreciated! 🙁

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

hello ywh
can you tell me if a JYs180/A.C will work with a NEC VT 540?
Also do you know if the repcacement/installation of the lamp in this kind of projection is doable?
Thanks for your time.

ywh-Thats ok, I'll try to explain it.
The bulb lights up, then it flashes (like pulses, or blinks). The bulb doesn't turn off when it flashes. But gets brighter when it flashes.
It is hard to explain. I can make a video of it if you want.

Hi Mclorkus !
I see now,
the + and - electrode of Original DC Metal Halide lamp are likt the picture, if it is , change the + and - wire .

hmm, now that I think of it, my lamp also "flashes" before turing off, maybe thats the problem...
I'll check it out when I get back home 🙂
