I used a really compact Hammond for my enclosure ..see post #84.Wel, as you're in the USA, Hammond MFG enclosures should be easy to find there: https://www.hammfg.com/electronics/small-case
They make all kind of enclosures.
Nice one! It has a power button too!For my H2v1 preamp, I used a wooden cigar box.
Thanks PaPa. How about Vp range from 2.2 to 2.39 J113?I go by the pinch-off voltage, with the Drain attached to +12V, the Gate to ground
and the Source to Ground through a 1 meg resistor. Vp is the voltage across that
resistor. The preferred range is 2.40 to 2.60V, and the Drain voltage setting in the
most recent H2 design is 4.21 times Vp. For example for Vds = 2.5V, the Drain
voltage you want will be about 10.5 volts.
Silly boy, do the math...

Sorry, I am so lazy! 😢😢
For a J113, Vp=2.245 and Idss=24.4, less distortion with T2=Vp+Idss*220=7.613 (V)? So, R6=150 and P1=100 for appropriate coverage?
Thanks PaPa.
My Balanced version of the H2v2, unity gain. I'm using it between my Balanced BA2018 preamp and an ALEPH J amplifier. Although the BA2018 preamp gives a very wide soundstage with surprising depth, the H2v2 extends the depth to fill the room.
I had to swap speaker connections when I brought the BA2018 into the main system.

This is my take on the H2 V2 preamp. As you get close to 1V there is also a good portion of 3rd harmonics. At a fraction of a volt it is just 2nd harmonics... but I forgot to take a screenshot. I haven't played with the pots yet. Just set to the Papa's value. 😗

But, peppennino ... there's no place in your chassis to put your amp, because your meter takes up all the space ! 😳😀

My error. You want about 10 dB attenuation, which is about 3 to 1.
R1 at 22k and r2 at 10k is more like it.
That's how I built mine..
Cheers
I just want to confirm: 22k and 10k are good for unity gain?
Thanks in advance!
