Pearl 3 Burning Amp 2023

Same value R27 (820 ohm) gives in one channel 3.626mV and in the other 3.371mV. Should I try to match both channels or stop obsessing? 😁

If someone can report less hiss-noise when volumen set to max (MJ-method) by changing a resistor to another brand or value I will be happy to know.
I am also happy that I only hear a bit of hiss-noise when volumen set to max (no hum).
I got my first "aha-experience" when playing a brand new record (Sony music). No groove-noise and not a single "pop". A friend I had for the listening test was also surprised. I have written to the company to know more about the pressing and vinyl composition. Only records of such high quality (or close) can justify all the effort that is put into a high end phono stage like the P3 (my own subjective viewpoint).
MEPER....don't know if anyone has answered this to date but I was getting a slight hum when the preamps volumes were turned to max which was bothersome, similar to your situation. Couldn't hear anything at normal preamp levels for playing music but it bothered me anyway. It was independent of turntable being connected, preamp, amp, PS driving the P3, any grounding schema, or opamp. I'm using a Grado Green 3 cartridge (moving iron?). I just tried changing R22 to a ~47R resistor (had them in my stash; bringing the total gain down to ~ 37dB). One channel is now completely silent and the other's hum was decreased dramatically. I'll drop R22 to 40R as soon as my order gets here from Mouser. I'll then do opamp rolling to see which I prefer although the standard 2068 is perfectly fine&dandy.

mention of (lots) more boards (and the recent fun with alternative boards) has me wondering when this endeavour will reach the end of the "Lewis and Clark" (Alexander Mackenzie for the Canadians) pioneering stage.

Out of the chute it seems a profoundly robust design that is proof against much of the queries, speculation and criticism.
Who arbitrates this classification?
That said I'm happy to continue to put on my adventure gear and log in for the ride. :)

It’s a great question and the answer is that we’ll keep making them as “pioneer” kits until the feeding frenzy slows down. Plus I have a lot of parts already purchased for these that need to be put into kits.

There may be demand to make a full kit, but that would almost certainly be a pre-order situation as it wouldn’t be particularly inexpensive.

At some point PCB+semiconductors may be sold as an “essentials kit”, but that will be in the future.

What opamp(s) are you using? That looks to be a single to dual, SMD to DIP adaptor…? Very interesting!

You mean, you can mount two single DIP devices then?

Actually, that's an interesting idea.. setting it up so I can try both single and dual opAmps. I have some single Burson opamps too.

I mean, perhaps single opamps sound better than dual?

^ OK, I'll bite. I can definitely use those. I'm sitting on some single Bursons, why not play with them too? I mean, this should increase the separation between channels and deepen the soundstage, right?

I mean, who knows?

I'm game.

Where do I get them? what are they called?

My motto... (OK, amongst my mottos) if you can make it with more cables, switches, lights, wires, boxes, etc.. than you're not done!

But seriously, I got the parts, not using them... why not use them?

Heck I could drive one channel with singles, the other with a dual!
