whatever is in case, but mostly speaking about Greenhorness and Absolute level of Dodossness, entire Forum can't reach 50% of Unit
and we all now that Unit is ZM

and we all now that Unit is ZM

found it, post#1274, codyt powered it groundless
as I can see , in post #1394, it would be logical that there is proper GND
so, we need confirmation that there is proper firm AC on both AC pads, ref to CT
The transformer is wired to the board:
Secondary 1 - BLK/BLK to AC1/CT - showing 19.26 VAC
Secondary 2 - RED/RED to CT/AC2 - showing 19.26 VAC
AC1 - AC2 - just over 39VAC
I wired the reds and blacks in the same order as they were ordered from the output of the transformer:
from the right of the green ground line:
BLK-AC1/BLK-CT/RED-CT/RED-AC2.
Is it possible that there is a reverse polarity in one the coils that could be causing this?
if there is proper sum of windings measured form AC1 to AC2 , no further suspicion
and, if you can confirm overall gain as set ( 6 or 12db, meaning 2 or 4V/V), everything is as is intended
so ........ ?

this would be (for 6db) - what you measure at buffer input, twice that on preamp output
let's ignore xformer pinout for now - we know Codyt made his with Jensen, Edcor we catch in pinout error, and I believe there is already made specimen with Cinemag .... so pinout is not under suspicion

Toshiba 8 - 11 mA from diyaudio store. I did not measure them, I have never had a issue with anything from diyaudio.

I’ve also tried with Cinemag, so all good there.
Mine was built with Cinemags on the 2018 proto board and it worked fine in both 6dB and 12dB modes.
Blame is squarely on Edcor’s data sheet makers as far as I can tell 🙂
you want to say that ZM is incapable to ook! things??!?
Blasphemy!
It's known everywhere that ZM is Omniooking, too!!

I hope I am not making making an issue out of nothing and wasting your time ZM. Don't get me wrong this preamp sounds phenomenal. Just very light in the low end compared to my current references ACP+ and B1K....But everyone has different taste's and expectations from their gear, so the issue here could be me. I think I might try with another brand transformer and see what comes of that or try grounding it in a different way.
One option worth considering is to take the unity gain output from the buffer (center pin of 6/12db jumper) and see if that impacts the low end at all. Obviously you lose the gain, but it could be a way to isolate and determine a baseline. I run mine from this center pin to drive an AVC.

Don’t forget omnipotent! 😀
yes, as Cody said - remove jumpers from gain setting headers, take signal from mid pin
listen what bass you have then
btw. pretty much nobody was hearing lack of bass frequencies, quite contrary
what value of trimpot in JFet sources you put?
