I have found you can get nicely matched pairs of the 170/74 without much difficulty. I have ordered from two EBAY sources with success.

I was hoping the DIAMOND would be better just because better is, well, BETTER!

See you are using an SD card player - I am using the SDTrans which I think is the only way to go - whose are you using?

My SD card player its DIY, just play Wave file, i got schematic from koon (it single layer pcb ). Its like QLS-550 but with different MCU (lower internal memory).
For any other format i using Raspi (Moode OS) and usb amanero and diy AK4490.
