Has anyone had any experience with the new NewClassD NCDV2 modules?
They look like they are built really well.
I could not find people who used them and compared them with, for example, the Hypex NC500.

Using opa627 sounds as wel as a discrete one, one of the best wideband opamp.
Discrete is nice fashion but opamps are mucho better in chip these days. opa627 is or was expesive also tough.

Found the site. For two monoblocks it aprroaches $7K. Just for the brds. and PSs. Not out of the question but expensive.
D amp in my living room 🙂---Sorry,couldn't resist.
Sitting still in past give not progress.
For one stereo amplifier:
2 x NCDV Singularity 2 High Grade + 1 power supply 2018 module 47.000uF/80V + softstart around 1.400 euro + vat. Using the pack offer.
Yes, expensive. But quite close to the price of NC500 amplifiers not boutique.

Class D amps
So far for me the best class D amp I have heard in my system is the new Ice Edge 1200AS2 module. It doesn't have the sharpness in the highs that I have heard in every other class D so far. It also has a much warmer presentation than what I have heard in the past. The class D amps I have heard before were tipped up in the tonality and cold sounding. The 1200AS2 has a tonality that to me is much more realistic especially with vocals.
Has anyone else heard this amp yet? If so, what is your impression of them?

I wonder if a small choke could not be on the output of some class D amps to roll off the top end, say, after 15K.

This is precise why I do simulate and look at what is best, sharpness in the highs is because there is feedback not so effective, but to much and amp sounds dead, so I go on and see what I come with later.

I did, with the use of a 24dB version, did also bessel here, and not bad, bessel has constand fase over bandwidth, but have less output demodulation.
Do not care about the 60 Khz peak, it is due to the simulation and can not find where and why. it is not harmonic.

I've got 4 D class amps. Included is a Sure 32313 $ TI 3251EVM. Both powered by a Meanwell 36v-600w ps. Does the Hypex NC400 sound loads better than either? Thanks.

I have no commercial made amps, I go build some own to see what sound is.

Same goes for this beast:
https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/data-sheet/TDA8950.pdf
It sounds ok with various of output inductors and input unbalanced to balanced preamps. Highs are ok.
No discusting sounds... and really good with compressor type speakers... for example eminence beta CX 10 + ASD1001, powerful vocals🙂

I haven't heard the 1200as2. Where is the module available?
I completely agree with your listening impressions.
I have built up a classdaudio cda120 - polite sound with your observed "sharpness in the highs."
I put together a Hypex NC400 - clinical, super revealing, highs that command your attention. I can't use it with my Magnepan 3's as it is over the top with the ribbons on the Maggies. It is now paired with vintage Large Advents... a great combination. It forces big bass out of the advents while plenty of the super detail gets tamed by the otherwise not so revealing highs of that speaker.
I found a sure ab32512 to be better. Sweeter. It is good enough that I tried a...
Sure/Wondom ab32511. Best I've heard yet. Very tuneful bass. Solid mids. Stable image. Highs good at first listen but I will give it a week before a final judgement. In the mean time I am looking for a way to add heat sink to the 32511 as it has two fans.

P.S.
All the modules have been run with linear power supply.

The latest sure 500W I got (recently) also has the fan. Meant to be a thermal fan but appears to cut in at random times. Two tea towels on top of the amp kill the noise.

Well, I feel pretty dumb right now. When I posted about this 1200as2 module I wasn't thinking about people wanting to buy the board and build one, Duh. Unfortunately these can not be purchased by the DIY community for some reason. I guess all we can do is hope some day they will become available. Small companies and large ones are buying these and then putting them in housings as is to sell. Since these don't need opamps and you can't change them there isn't much to do to change the sound. I find them very warm like a good tube amp which is pretty amazing to me. I really can't find any fault with them but I have only had them for a couple weeks so far. Your explanation of all other class D amps I've heard is spot on for sure. I just couldn't get over the highs. When I first powered these up I could hear an extension on the Ssssss sound if that makes since. It was a hiss like Sssssssound but it seems to have gone away. I'll have to spend some more time just checking for that again now that Iv'e had it running 24/7 ever since I received it.
Anaview/Abletec modules can be purchased directly from manufacturer, 5 pieces minimum oder. I use 300-1300 and like the sound very much. Don't have much experience of comapring with other D-class things, but prefer them to any AB sound I've heard.
I think I posted yesterday too, where didi it dissappear?
