The Very Best Amplifier I Have Ever Heard!!!!

Youre living in old ages.
Nowadays we have RCD:s (Residual Current Breakers) in almost every home.
Quite OK to break the ground connection with no concern from safety.

The "ground" is today mostly used to avert disturbances from mains interferencies though interference filters.

Johan
No, NO and NO !!!!!!

You, me and everyone else MUST NEVER break the PE to Chassis connection.
The Safety Earth is there for ONE REASON ONLY. SAFETY

Re: Golmund clone

All the problems are gone ...
The photo shows clear the setup ...
Everyone nows this setup.!!
No voltage ~ between 0 PSU and chassis( ~4mv). No voltage ~ between 0 PSU and L profile. No ringing at all when i connect at L profile with earth GROUND
The sound more neutral clear .
TOMMY1000 thanks for your clear position .
Regards Nikos

post2484, right pic:
Is that the Mains Power input socket I can see?
The top pin looks like it is the PE terminal.

That PE terminal MUST have a direct mechanical fixing to the adjacent Chassis. This direct connection should be a green/yellow cable.

Nothing else is allowed to interfere with this SAFETY connection !!!!

post2484, right pic:
Is that the Mains Fuse Holder?
The Mains Power MUST go to the END terminal of the fuse holder.
The power OUTPUT from the fuse holder MUST come from the side terminal.

Who wired up this "Very Best Amplifier"?
They deserve to be put in prison !

Image confusing.
The top pin it is ΝΟΤ the PE terminal
And you confuse us.
The next time you want to say something clean would have to show us a plan how wired the amplifier.

You must be some old fashion about this.
There is since many years a thing called Class2, Double Insulated. Just check your drilling machine etc....

All TV and audio sets, consuming less than 2,5Amps (@230VAC), in Europe are now equipped with the EUR-IEC 2 pole contact with no earth.
There is a Class2 6Amps contact too!!
No chassie groundings, as this will also make ground loops with disturbances and hum, leading to inferior sound.

As I said before, the grounding thing was only to make safety to blow the mains fuse if the insulation was shorting. Only to make protection for the chassie not to carry mains voltage.
The ground also serves to be a pathway in mains disturbace filters

Today when all serious installations are equipped with a RCD (RCBO, ELCD) device and sets are double insulated, this is not the case.

Maybe in the UK, most devices are sold with the 3 prong contact, but the ground pin is almost never connected with the chassie.
Only looks like that with the British mains contact

But i have seen many times in this post and other posts show pictures from official data sheet without permission and moderator not involve.

You are still wrong about the compulsory protection system built into all Class1 equipment.

Class11 is very different. Don't use this to conduse the issue over safety for our Class1 projects.

Re: Golmund clone

Golmund clone box
The construction is in the research stage and was not installed insulation in critical parts.
