Thanks! I compressed pics extra tiny - I’ll post nice high-res once they’re finally complete. 🙂
ultra tidy
we can't even see thermal goo between Biguns and heatsink
is there any? ( need to ask, just in case)
another thing - for that amount of dissipation, bottom slits area looks ....... well, not enough

if that option is feasible - you can put some 5mm to 10mm spacers (how big - depends whats doing to overall beauty of your amp) between bottom and resto amp, same as between rest of amp and top plate
"rest of amp" in your case being " heatsinks" , as far I can see
that way you're gaining same height slit around entire circumference of covers, plenty of air

Ah, that’s a good idea. May try that one first. The top plate has a few more holes (I think), so it’s possible it’ll need be ok.
also - thermal interface
hardly that anything is better than naked contact, helped with some thermal goop
both amp Biguns, same as IXYS bridge you're using - they're all having metal tab insulated, so no need for isolation
but, you alreay know that (wrote for Greenhhorns
) - having screws not isolated
what I meant is - Berquist pads are nice and not messy, but I'm not buying them as better than direct and little messier solution

Yeah, I triple checked that all the devices had their bottom plates isolated, as I had no clue about the biguns. I debated goop vs therm pads, and I chose the pads just for the lack of mess (and my lack of experience with goop). That said, my plan is to monitor temps and switch to goop if needed. Each bigun is having its own 5U 350mm sink, and have my fingers crossed that’ll be enough.
On last question (for now 🙂) - you specified the 3w shunt resistor at output between 300R-1K. Any advantage to using more or less resistance (within range you specified)?
that's just cap bleeder
use what you have in drawer
regarding heat ........ you're on the verge with heatsink size
be prepared to make Babysitters - nice 12cm fans are cheap .....

Thanks. Assumed that was case with the resistor, but it’s always when I start assuming that trouble finds me 😀

It’s alive!!! The pair of monoblocks are complete (save for the final front panels) and making music!!
The build and start-up process could not have gone better. I hope to post some measurements, temps, details, impressions and more pics soon. In the meantime, here are a few higher res pics for ZM 🙂
I’ll keep saying this, but thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to ZM and Pa for making these amps possible (in more ways than one…)

Thanks Ben and Dennis!
Ben, I had the tremendous fortune of finding a pair of 2SK77B. Certainly I don't deserve them, but I can say that I'll enjoy them as much as humanely possible. Guess I just feel a little guilty 🙂 I don't know of any more available, unfortunately.
