What could be more enjoyable than assembling a new circuit board?

The boards were in the mailbox yesterday afternoon so I went to work making sure I had ordered all of the parts needed and, for once, I had.

Ordered two 90 volts secondary transformers from TOROIDY yesterday. They will make what you want. I got the best variant - just under one hundred dollars each including shipping.

I figure the circuit deserves the best I can throw at it. And I know I cannot get the favorite ZM ones from TRAFOMATIC .

Each board will be for one channel so I am using one transformer for each board - Rectification. a smoothing cap followed by a choke for each channel which will connect to the board at the first cap of the CRC filter. The transformer, rectifier and chokes will be two feet away from the main circuit. This is repeated for the other channel/board.

Had four HAMMOND 5 Hy 250 mA chokes that I bought for some AC quieting trick I read about at AUDIO ASYLUM and now they get to do some useful work.

Yep, I agree

Based on my experience, I rarely pay brokerage fee when the shipper use USPS but when receiving a package from UPS most of the time you get to pay brokerage fees.

It’s based on the declared value.
Well as expected, I just received a bill of $25 from UPS...I can’t stand these crooks. This is the reason I NEVER choose UPS...
Any I’ll try to stay positive, just had a bad day...it will pass 👍
I should receive the PCBs by next week.

I’m not shocked 😳

Please don’t feel bad, it wasn’t my intention at all. I’m very thankful for your generosity.

I’m looking forward to receiving the boards and start building 👍

My daughter once bought a pair of sneakers for about $275 and then received a bill from UPS for about $80...I then told her a little story about UPS and DHL vs using the normal USPS, now she knows 😀

UPS and sometimes Fedex charges a "brokerage fee" for "filling out and filing the necessary paperwork for cross border transactions." This is essentially BS and it often applies BOTH WAYS. I have received bills from UPS for stuff sent to the US from Canada. It's usually $20 per shipment, but sometimes it's $20 per item (transformers from Plitron).

I just ordered some PC boards from JLCPCB and found that Fedex now wants a "remote rural delivery fee" of $22 to deliver the PC boards to my house. UH, the Fedex truck brings deliveries down my dirt road every day, so they are not adding any extra work for their extra money. DHL does not charge this fee and they have to deliver here from Pittsburgh which is about 60 miles away. I have not been surprised by fees from DHL yet. The boards are now "awaiting carrier pickup."
