At your leisure - the only thing I think could be added to your list is heatsinking recommendations for the mosfets.
I know you had mentioned something before but an assurance of what is needed would be helpful.
I believe you mentioned before that the mosfet in the regulator needs some help and I would expect the current source to need something more substantial than a small sink which I think you said is sufficient for the remainder.

Certainly. The CCS and gain FET carry the most dissipation, followed by the regulator FET.
Regulator FET heatsink
CCS and gain FET heatsink
P-channel FET: no heatsink needed. Clip-on won't hurt.

Have a clear path to doing all the packing. Hope to get everything out before thanksgiving. Thanks for being patient… just a hectic time at work and at home.
Maybe already answered earlier, does it sound a lot better with CCS instead of simple resistor or eventually light bulb?
I tried the resistor version early on, but the CCS eventually turned out to be a winner because the AC load can be adjusted independent of the DC load. Light bulb might be fine for a power amp, but this is a preamp and we can manage the dissipation better.
All PMs have gone out. I was panicking yesterday about not having the shipping info, but after doing all the mapping, only a handful of folks need to send me their info. Onward!
Like they say, no news is good news 😀
Thanks for all your work, much appreciated.

Hi Rahul,
I’ve received an email from PayPal telling me that a UPS shipment is coming my way 👍
Just wondering if the shipping fees are ok since you are using UPS ? The prices you had provided us was based on USPS First Class.
Please let me know if you are short or ok with the amount I gave you.
Thanks
Eric

For some reason, the cheapest shipping to you was UPS but other packages going to Canada are going USPS. All good on my end. Thanks for asking!
Spent the day assimilating shipping labels. Now I have all of them. Hope to pack it all up tomorrow and ship Friday.

You could ship next week so you don’t feel rushed during your Thanksgiving preparation.
It’s your call 👍

Courier shipping to Canada may end up costing more overall if the courier charges the receiver a customs brokerage fee. Courier companies offer services that do not include that fee in the price that the shipper pays, so the receiver pays. And they also offer services that include the brokerage fee in the price that the shipper pays, so the receiver doesn't have to pay the brokerage fee.
Any courier shipment to Canada valued at over $20 CAN is assessed taxes (GST + provincial tax if applicable) and the courier collects it for the government. And I believe they also charge a fee for that. The postal service is usually more lenient and may not always collect the taxes on shipments that are valued over $20 CAN. If Canada Post collects taxes, they add on a fee of $9.95 CAN, which is less than what a courier company would charge.
So UPS shipping may or may not end up being the cheapest.
I try to avoid courier shipping if possible, except when I order parts from Digikey or Mouser. Their free shipping for purchases over $100 CAN includes free courier shipping. And Digikey and Mouser collect the taxes for the government so there are no extra charges on receipt of the goods.

Yep, I agree
Based on my experience, I rarely pay brokerage fee when the shipper use USPS but when receiving a package from UPS most of the time you get to pay brokerage fees.
It’s based on the declared value.

MOUSER certainly doesn't give free shipping for over one hundred dollars orders fo US residents.
I figure CANADA is so dogged in collecting Customs fees is due to the huge socks budget. One wonders if it competes with King George IV as told by THE BLACK ADDER?

Thanks for the info guys. The difference wasn’t that much and in my experience shipping with UPS is better. Declared value was <50 bucks, so hopefully there isn’t a fee. I am learning all these ins and outs though, so all this info is helpful. And yeah, no free shipping with Mouser regardless of price.
Packed, sealed, and ready to go. My little helping hands (who insisted on helping)
Happy thanksgiving everyone!

Wonderful family affair Rahul, thank you for all your work on this project 😁

All PCBs have been shipped. Thanks everyone! There is one extra left and four of the test ones. I will be reaching out to folks who sent PMs asking if there were any left.
