I am currently working on active crossovers.First time working with waveguide/tweeter. Do i make response flat before proceeding with crossover?
What is important is the acoustical target.
In theory we can use wichever dsp eq and filter we want.
Just for example, (not real values), lr24 2k, if a protection cap is required:

- Draw the lr24 2k slope target
- Add a butterworth 6db at 10k for the cap
- Add a but 12db at maybe 1k6 to increase the slope
- Eq the rest avoiding eq boost or few db and use low Q peaking

You know I don't really have any pics yet except the day I bought it. I've also added XIDA coilovers and had a race shape do a more performance oriented 4-wheel alignment.
Is Morel widely available, in Europe for example? One of the prototypes I've built uses the Scanspeak Discovery 18cm and SB26STAC, but I'm considering using the Morel CAT308/378 instead if I can design a usable waveguide and it sounds better. And it's widely available.
The morel is available at about 100eu.
The sb26stc (plastic faceplate but we don't care since it will bé removed) is about 25eu at thlp. Maybe you need also to consider extra cost in the picture ...

Are we sure they are really the same, except the faceplate? On the SBA homepage almost every TS parameter is different for the STC versus the STAC? Even voice coil height.
Exactly the same parameters. The plastic is oem and available with moq of 250 now.
Pay attention: there is the STC-C004 and ST-C004. Last one is different and hasn't the copper cap. (It's very confusing)

It is available (for now) at Solen in Canada, but after shipping to the US it would be more than just buying the STAC from Madisound.
