Oh I thought you meant the same radius as my original.
If you have a 3d printer you could print a jig to centre the router for cutting a bigger hole. Something like that to fit the internal hole. Actually you could make it from wood with the router too.

Is it not possible to simply reduce the radius of the waveguide to be the same as the original faceplate? I can do it myself, I just want to make sure I don't mess up the wave "guidance" efficiency.
Correct it's not really possible because the waveguide is wider than the original face plate. I'd have to do a full redesign and then it wouldn't be such a good match to the woofer afterwards. It would be much better if you can clamp a bit of wood in the middle and enlarge the hole.
It might be a bit of a pain but worth it in the end. I'm sure many here can tell you how much a waveguide matched to your mid-bass improves the sound.

I can report already that that first one is finished and sounds great right off the bat - this is the first time I got the xo values spot on from the very start.

Didn’t get to a waveguide yet, but will try it soon.
It looks that way because the waveguide is an ellipse. The middle aligned hole appears to be 'deeper' than the other two. However they are all 3.7mm from the flat back of the waveguide so you can use the same length of screws.
Smooth this out. I guess a wavelet analysis would show the unwanted acoustical effects better than a simple SPL response measurement like this one:

I dropped them all the way down, so that even original screws can be reused, and it will press onto magnet directly as added benefit.
