I mean he's just getting started, don't scare him with polar plots and special equipment 😱
It is good to buy the ARTA licence though, I like ARTA too.

I was busy with some more important family issues, so had to table this one for few days. I will try to set something up next week. I have a WM61 mic on a rod with Linkwitz mod, but it's going to be a lot of assembly/disassembly work to measure all the drivers in the box...
To design a crossover that works correctly we need to know how the drivers behave in the box. It's like at the moment you built a sports car but are timing the engine valves by guessing.
Of course family is more important! I just hoped you had not given up this project.

Ok, I will use REW. On axis, 50cm away, each driver fed with full range signal in the box, 1m above the floor. Right?
Something seems strange though. The tweeter is about 10dB lower level than the woofers. That can't be right, can it?
I'll try to get some time next week to set up a measurement here with my drivers and we can compare results. Can you confirm your drivers are XT25BG60, the double magnet one? And the W12CY001 is 8 ohms?

That's because you scared me from blowing up the tweeter, so the volume is not as high as for the woofer 🙂 On top of that,WM61 is running with Linkwitz mod, so it has less sensitivity. In short, I don't know how far can I push the tweeters. I will try to measure them again with the same volume.Something seems strange though. The tweeter is about 10dB lower level than the woofers. No, just one of them. Should they be playing both?Good work! Is that both woofers playing together in parallel?
Yes it should be both woofers playing together because they will interact with each other and you are driving them like a single woofer.
Both woofers together
Tweeter alone
No filters, same level, don't move the speaker or mic.
But yes you need to be very carful not to damage the tweeter if you are using a sweep, so use a low level. This is a reason I like ARTA because as I explained in an earlier post you can filter away low frequencies without affecting the measurment.
Which model version of XT25 are you using?

I also did some FR measurements (1/12 octave smoothing). Attached FRD files (you can import to REW, ARTA or anything.
Here is our data over-layed.
Mine Blue, Yours Green, W12CY001. I aligned them at 2Khz-5KHz. Over-all we see remarkable similarity, so good job! Obviously you have some room modes and stuff going on, but more noticeable to me is the high frequency boost at the top of your measurement. Perhaps your mic was more on-axis with the woofers than mine or it's just a change in the woofer design. My W12CY001 are from 2019. My mic was exactly mid-way between the two woofers at 50cm distance.
Mine Orange, Yours Red, XT25BG60 in waveguide. As in the above plot we see a bit of a rise in the high frequency, but not as strong as with the woofers above. So some we can contribute to the mic, but not all of it.
I'm unsure why your tweeter appears louder than mine by more than 5dB... but I trust my data (of course) mic was on a stand as was the speaker and measured at 50cm exactly and the volume level was not changed.
We still need impedance to start simulating crossovers. I'll measure some time later. Maybe you can get started with your existing impedance data.
