The Phase is not correct with this design TBH. IF I flip the polarity we do not see a deep null, just a droop.

Inverted Tweeter:

If you want to hear what these speakers can really do, it's time to build a new xover 🙂
That looks bad 🙂, not even close to what I am hearing and measuring. Maybe my driver measurements are wrong? After all, I was using uncalibrated WM61 of unknown origin - can't remember where I got it from anymore, and I hear there are lot of fakes floating around.

I guess you'll have to take my word for it - it cannot get much better than this. It beats all other designs in the picture in at least one discipline. DXT has lowest extension followed by ZRT and ZD5, but the mids (voices especially), highs, definition and precision of the sound stage - it's all right there, coming from those tiny boxes. I'd rather redirect my next effort into a sub to complement them in the only area they are lacking. And, maybe a little chamfer on the sides, just in case there is a small diffraction happening on the baffle.

It looks bad mostly because of the scale. It actually mimics your results pretty closely in the 1KHz - 10KHz range. I don't want to be an *******, but also I want to be honest with you - It's good that you are enjoying the speakers as they are, however they are being crippled by a crossover with poorly aligned phase and a mid-range bump.

I've provided you anechoic data from identical drivers including the waveguide and a mic you can trust. If you use that in your simulations you will see what the speaker is doing without the question of room reflections, lack of a mic stand etc..

Here's the measurement with WM61A mic, and the bump is gone 🙂

Hello, I have the same Seas Excel 12cy woofers, I don't understand much but could you help me with a drawing of a plan? I wanted to make the same speaker with 2 Seas Excel12 Cy woofers inside the same box but without a tweeter. I have a clear idea about the box, what I am not clear about. It is the filter resistance capacitor, would you be so kind, thank you

English please

Really, are the seas w 12cy/c-tb equivalent to the seas 12cy001, these woofers are really taken from a television or so I have been told, I would need help, what type of filter, capacitor and resistor do I need to put 2 woofers in a box without a single tweeter? the 2 woofers thank you

Surely not from a television, the 12CY001 are VERY expensive woofers about £300 each.

You should not use these without any tweeter. They are mid-bass driver, they do not play the full range.

I really have a project that I want to do but I didn't want to lie too much. The topic is about a tower speaker but in three different modules.
1: module: proac db1 woofer which is really a seas excel with scan speak tweeter d2608/913000
2: module 2 seas w 12cy woofers, which are the ones I mentioned that I currently have without any filter or anything, they don't sound bad but I wanted your experience so that they sound better
3: 26w/8861t00 scan talk module, which is clear to me in an 80 liter box copied from the jensen 1071 by troels gravesen

it would be between the jensen 1071 speaker and the von schweikert vr6
I wanted it all independent since my Denon amplifier has 8 outputs at 160 W. For me, it is not a problem to make the boxes since I am a carpenter.
I know that on the previous page there are examples but they are all with tweeters, what would the scheme of these 2 woofers be like without a tweeter are w12cy
Sorry if something is not written well since I am using Google Translate

Yes, I bought them at Wallapop and he told me that they were one of those high-end televisions for video conferencing. By the way, there are more units available. I bought them for 50 euros per unit and bought those 4 that I am mentioning at Wallapop, a guy who is very serious about shipping.
