Did some listening to the amp with some full range speakers, Mark Audio Alpair 7 drivers which are only 4" so limited bass but their mid/tops are very revealing.
Overall impression was excellent dynamics/clarity. Top end very detailed without any harshness. Bottom end very clean tho I cant talk to the lower frequencies. Very pleased with the amp so far. I have been building/using "D" class amps in the last few years, the better ones have great dynamics but can get a bit aggressive. The AX14 seems to have the dynamics without so much aggression.
Next step will be integrating it into my active 3-way driving the BG Neo8s mid panel.

You can match them with your DMM, if it has the provision or with your 10USD aliexpress / ebay transistor tester.

Thanks Prasi, probability of finding a couple of matched pairs from a set of 20 to 30 transistors is fair enough? As they are cheap INR 5 locally so with 20 its just INR 100 and if I can get the matched pairs then good enough 🙂

I have brought from them as well as projectpoint and eightaudio. All are genuine sites selling good stuff at reasonable prices. My question was the probability of finding good matched pairs from a lot of 20-30 pieces of 2n5401 is good enough 🙂

yes, you will find many pairs with same/similar hfe from a lot 20-30 pieces, because all these dealers get them in bulk and nearly everytime they will be from the same manufactured lot.
It's only for test in seconds, then using bigger heatsink.
This amp has nice sound in mid and high. More relaxing compare to AX-14 or even AX-20.

I finished two boards and mounted on heatsinks, before powering on, I cross checked all the parts and found like for c11 and c12 i used 100uf 63v capacitors.
Do i need to use 2.2uf or can use 100uf too?
