regarding 2SC5200/2SA1943 (driver?)
would you suggest Fairchild or Toshiba ?
I have 8pair of MJL21193/94
Maybe I could use one pair in place of the 2SC5200/2SA1943 ?
and 'just' have 7 output pairs
I will probably use slightly lower voltage
for home use, bass guitar

Use Toshiba 2SC5200/2SA1943 as driver and 8pair of MJL21193/94 as outputs.
Use 160volt rated caps if available or this circuit with 63volt rated caps.
The use of this scheme for the power supply is not very good idea. If any of the capacitors have problems, the fault could be massive and could be extended to the other capacitors, being able to destroy much of the capacitor bank.
Even the capacitors would have to be fairly well matched to ensure a proper distribution of voltages and prevent perforation of dielectrics.

Then the intermediate voltages could be used in one of the stepped rail amplifier topologies.
😉. Even if one wants to achieve the same ripple source but at half voltage, may reinforce the capacitors close to GND

PSU from H900 can be use

This Amplifier is simple class AB design for PA
A 1Kw amp. using bipolar output transistors should be bridged to maximise transistor SOA.
Your SOA protection is poor. Moreover, you should not use base-collector capcitors on your protection transistors. Download SOA protection paper here:

This solution has potential problems: If the diode bridge on the right of the schematic is opened for any failure, we return to have any chance of massive failure. Even if a capacitor is shorted, it can cause damage in another capacitor placed in the higher voltage rail or vice versa.
Here is a version even more reliable. If a diode bridge opens for failures, no problems. It is even far more silent.

Thanks for the info, but I want keep it simple.
think I will use 'standard' 50-55Vac trafo
(also considered a switchmode supply, but no)
lets just call it 1000watt into 4ohm 😀
if you really want it that loud, you will need more speakers anyway
that said, I have never experienced a cap that failed
but I suppose anything is possible

Apex is going back to good old skool amps. No SMPS here please! 🙂

And no toroidal transformer, just 20kg EI 🙂
OMG!! i like going back back to old school amp...
Fun starts here...... Building a hand made customize trafo for this amp is a real fun..

why does it always end getting stuck on money issue 😱
need to put some sense into it...for my own sake
I already have most parts for two mono amps running on +/-55Vdc (2KVA)
(and I even have small trafos for input/VAS running on +/-60Vdc)

OK, than I'm not surprised of the 4U high enclosure...

is this for 1 channel? or two?

Mile is just joking, eh! Do you want to lift up your amp with a forklift? 😀
Edit:

😀
