Hi @keantoken ,
You have used two current mirror on differential VAS , any specific reason for that,

No, I was being sarcastic. 😛Hi TT,
Are you saying you have a spare trafo or that don’t want to build this anymore?
You just have to keep chanting to yourself “The best stereo amplifier ever heard…” as you click the “buy” button on Mouser. 🙂
Ha! Well if it's any consolation, you can cannibalize the parts to use for another project.
I think you are referring to the Wilson current mirror. It looks like two current mirrors but it is more like a cascoded current mirror that reduces thermal error.

My Mouser cart is sitting at $508 and I still have a few things to get. I'm thinking if I put this one in a case, something else is coming out first. lol
There's a good bit of work to do here... lots of parts are hard to find. I think, we need to look at alternatives, we can find, and are likely to be available. If not, "verification" build/s mean very little. I'm done in for the day, but I'd like to get with you guys and find alternate parts, or procedures. If not, it's not worth the $1000 build that this amp requires. I'm still in, but, I need to know we are moving toward a build-able amp.
Let's vet this bitch right and find parts, or alternate ways to construct. It's already a pricey endeavour, that's not off-putting if parts are source-able and the amp is what we think it will be.
That makes sense to, you'll? 🙂

Please share a list of the parts that are unavailable and we can work together to find equivalents. I don’t think anything but the lateralFETs and 2SK389 are “sole source”.
What do you mean by modular? Does this mean that it is possible to bring all of this to a less powerful version. I think very few people actually need 300W. Many will turn away from this realization which will not meet the need and especially which has a very high cost. What if it doesn't sound as good as you might expect? Hey X depending on what country you are in, the detail of hard to source parts changes, but this is not just an issue for this amp, but for all future amps as well. Us DIY guys/gals are in for hard times as the industry is on a steady course to phase out most TH parts. As much as many of us, especially us older folks with bad eyes, and not so steady hands, lament it, we need to think about this, and work toward changes to SMD, or parts we think we can source for a few years yet. SMD has it's own set of problems such as characteristics and esp heat removal. I digress.
The main thing, I would hope see is source parts from 1-2 vendors, or at least ones in the same countries and no more than 3. If I'm ordering from 4 vendors, just to stuff the board, I'm spending ~ $30 US just for shipping, of parts for the boards, which doesn't include the boards, trans or chassis, many other countries have it much much worse for shipping. This should be considered.
@Stale25 this amp won't be for everyone, but I too would like to see options, especially for 4ohms which would entail some power supply work, and other tweaks, which are above my pay grade. I'm talking with the designer, on it, but I don't think he wants to run through all the changes and hold hands to do it. I respect that, at some point you release a child into the world and if it wants a sex change, cool, but the parent isn't obligated to pay for it.

I understand your position. It is true that it is not easy. But it is up to everyone to make a choice in any case.

The cool thing, perhaps for your needs, is there are many great lower power amps here, for you, to chose from. Nelson, and others, have seen to that. I love the AN (Alpha Nirvana) the Badger and I think the Wolverine is going to be something special as well. All of those throw a pretty nice punch depending on your needs. Also the Wolverine is going to do something like 190W into 4ohms, which is what my primary speakers are. I also find it's rare that I use over 10W, but my speakers are efficient.
Anyway, good luck. 🙂

Hello X! 🙂
Okay, I haven't done a great deal of hunting as I have a bunch plates spinning, but here are a few I couldn't source at Mouser or Digikey
691401700008B Term block
CPF33R9200DKB14 0.5% 3.92 ohms (Maybe speak with KT here and see if he can look at that)
2929SQ-501GEC coil not from Mouser or Digi, but coilcraft has them direct, if you are in the US....
SSW-103-01-G-S Mazz connector (Mouser out, but Digikey has it and plenty of them.)
MKP1G022203C00JSSD WIMA Film .033 MKP None Mouser, nor Digikey (I think there's an easy sub here, but haven't got there.
CMF60180R00BHEK crazy 0.1 tolerance 50PPm 175C 180 ohm
LGN2E471MELA35 470uF Elec 250V polar 3pc Mouser 84pc digikey
LSK389A has to come from overseas
ECW20P20 and ECW20N20 overseas
