Good news folks, the first batch of verification IMS aluminum LU1014D TO-247 adapter PCBs arrived today. They look great. They would look better in ENIG but I didn’t want to splurge for that on verification build parts. I am waiting for the Samtec 0.20in pitch 3-pin SMT header pins to arrive from Samtec and can start assembling them. I have the matched LU1014D’s from Woofertester already.

Here is one of the LU1014D’s that Woofertester sent me placed on top to show fit and size of the adapters:

As you can see, it’s going to take a little manual cutting and bending of the legs to get them to lie flush with the pads before surface mount reflow soldering.

Looking good. Great work.

I think we were thinking about $5/pair based on the cost of the boards. The LU1014Ds, shipping etc are extra. If people want ENIG finish it might be a tad more. I am not running the GB but merely doing the verification assembly for the adapters. So the final GB pricing will be set by WG45, the OP of this thread in conjunction with Woofertester.

Here's an update on the GB.

Nelson has sent the Lu1014 fets to Woofertester and he is working on the matching.

As noted today, xrk971 has pcb samples and will start testing them when possible. If the pcbs pass testing, I'll try to add them to the GB. Pcb costs will be dependent on the amount ordered, of course, but we should be able to get a fairly firm cost quickly for the GB.

Carsten has volunteered to handle GB distribution for the EU. We might need volunteers to handle GB distribution for Asia and Australia/NZ.

If things go as planned, the GB should be fets and pcbs. All light weight items and should be easy to ship.

Early results

I made it through about 100 pcs of the Pass stash. I pulled what I would consider a tight match. Not all matched pairs may be this tight.

The remaining pcs will await my bringing up an automated printout rig.

The median of absolute Vgs voltage for 1.5A at 2.4V Vds is different for the Pass stash vs. the eBay stash. The difference is about 0.25v. The eBay stash has lower Vgs.
