Ok, we got a winner! Its currently living in my temp chassis and making great sounds. The startup process was super easy and straightforward. Amp is extremely stable, with minimal drift from cold to hot. Just now getting some good listening time, so I can't provide a big list of audiofoolery descriptors.....yet 🙂 Having now built common source amps, common drain amps, and now this DEF amp, my initial impression is that DEF resides somewhere between the weight and richness of a common source SIT amp and the sweet, lucid sound of a CD follower. Obviously that grossly oversimplifies all the factors involved, but you get the idea. Definitely a keeper!

Thanks ZM!

*edit – I forgot to add that its really quiet too... exceeded my expectations actually, at least when it comes to signal iron amps.

Still happy. In fact, was just thinking I need to pick up another chassis so I can leave 42 as-is 🙂

Since I'm running slightly higher rails, I did bump the Iq down a bit. Trying to keep IR part at 45W or smaller.
