I noticed new “Lemoney” flavor gum drops here and in last kit I got

Do they have a light crisp flavor compared to your old favorite “Blueberry”?…or just a different wrapper? 😉😁

major differences are Ugs value range - much easier construction when you have biasing voltage in range of 2-3V than having it in range of 9-12V (from top of my head, but I believe there it is) as is case with Sony parts

in short - Sony are having at least triple value of Ugs comparing to Tokins, be it big ones or small ones

that is a matter of construction - depending which arrangement you're using for part ( common drain or common source), you must accommodate/arrange modulation of gate thinking of its relation to rails - how much and in which way you need to hop above or bellow rails, and what is resulting behavior of circuit

in short - lesser complications if Ugs range of part is smaller

then - dissipation range - we all know that big Tokins are hard to kill and you can use them as cattle branding head (should I patent that?) , and we can expect that 2SK2087C, being substantially bigger than TO247 ( regular IRFP mosfet) is no Weakling; if IRFP is living happily for many years, sweating under 40W of heat, no reason that 2SK2087C can't endure at least 60 to 70, taking all in account

Keratherm 86/82 sheet, cut in size, Voila!

one of the facts is that I'm lately having Square Law as Fetish, and that calls for parts with proper (big as much is possible) xconductance

Sony parts are having much lesser xconductance than Tokins ...... meaning - more polite sound, in general, but also less detailed and less dynamic

Thank you ZM for that information.
"Sony parts are having much lesser xconductance than Tokins ...... meaning - more polite sound, in general, but also less detailed and less dynamic".
That point seems particularly interesting.

Just turn up the volume. 😊

Listening to my choke loaded follower low transconductance 2SJ28 and it sounds mighty fine.
When it comes to VFETs/SITs, just be happy with what you have, and be happy that you have them.
