Well, there are a few people on here making similar kit's all with every thing i want in each, at this time its a waiting game 🙂
 
I have been designing a DAC + pre and considered the WM8816, but when I tried to purchase a few chips from Wolfson's online store, the shipping was $60... no thanks. I will stick with the PGA2320 unless a reasonably priced source for the WM8816 turns up.

I sent an email to Lynn at Wolfsen, asking if $60.00 was a mistake.

How many WM8816 chips did you order?

As one of the best designers there are says in post # 2....

I think it was just 2 or 3.

I know I'm nobody and my opinion counts for very little compared to that of Mr. Dudek, but the PGA2320 has a vanishingly small THD... I doubt my hearing could distinguish the Wolfson + hotrod op amps from the TI part.
