How to save a Dewalt DW207 trill:
To replace the Ni-Cd batteries DW9072 of my old 12 volts Dewalt DW207 working still great!
Old batteries were 10 * 4/5 Sub-C Ni-Cd batteries
Did plug in 4 * Samsung 18650 batteries with a BMS 30Amps for 4 cells... tight fit... really ... but a nice challenge!
(1 * VS-ELEC 4S 30A 14.8V 18650 BMS PCM and 4 * Samsung INR 18650-25R 3.6V 2500mAh )
A connector to provide DC 16.9 volts and 800 mA to charge the cells...
...
It works! 😎

The Makita batteries have a chip in them that bricks the unit when the charger senses 3 charge
attempts.
I read this somewhere awhile back , but haven’t verified it
attempts.

Thanks for the info, but mine is a real old one, about 17 years old, stored during 15 years... and working well.
you're right,. I would have done but my epoxy had hardened in the tube, I will if it fails again.I would have done that, but put a small bit of epoxy inside the knob to lock the shaft inside.
By the time the cooker fails, it's time to toss it for a new one, and prep the new knob the same way.
Just a few last pictures... I did use the cardboard envelopes to push the connector in place. How to save a Dewalt DW207 trill:

Don't laugh.Haha! Somehow this poopie fix actually reduced hum by 10+ dB.
Shielding preamp tubes is nothing new.
I've done it to help silence any hum issues.
Better to use a tube shield made for a particular tube.
2007 Toyota Rav4 V6:
Six coil packs and six spark plugs. The front 3 are easy enough, but the 3 against the firewall... a royal PITA. Anyway, it's done and running fine.

Wanna come try replacing the plugs on a 1996 Lincoln MkVIII, with the InTech V8?2007 Toyota Rav4 V6:

A LOT of disassembly first.I wonder how they pull the engine, the space is so cramped.
I believe that the InTech is the same DOHC V8 also used in the Mustang SVT Cobra. If so, I helped my nephew changed plugs on his about 10 years ago. BTW, I love the Mark VIII. I'd rather have one than a Mustang as they're roomier and less noticeable.Wanna come try replacing the plugs on a 1996 Lincoln MkVIII, with the InTech V8?

Indeed, that InTech engine is a stong bugger, even in the Mk VIII.I believe that the InTech is the same DOHC V8 also used in the Mustang SVT Cobra. It's hard not to burn rubber from a redlight stop, the car's got so much low-end torque.
I had the transmission rebuilt back in 2005, and modified with the upgraded shift accumulator stuff - piston-springs - Mercon 5 fluid - etc.
This noticeably improved shifting performance, no lagging.
I also modified the air-intake system... it growls nice when you "step on it", yet purrs on the road.
When I took it for a road trip in September 2005 Philly to Winchester Va (to the Patsy Cline event), that Lincoln just breezed down the interstates and was a delight to drive. It's really a highway car.
Because in the city here it guzzles 12.5 miles a gallon, highway I got 26 MPG.
The JBL Premium Sound system is awesome too, and I added some "low end" with a dual 8" sub in the trunk with a 300W amp.
Sadly, I retired it to the back driveway years ago, it's "classic" status now, one day I'll put it up for sale "as is".
It ran great right up to its retirement, but will need work from sitting idle.
It remembered me of an old joke: That winter with green grass is ok. But that winter with a snow and an ice is really bad.
Grass is always green here 🙂 It is very rare here to see lying snow, maybe once every few years and it lasts no longer than a few hours.

Shh.. less talk of grass.. and jokes.. the Mrs isn't seeing the potential in either.
I'm "repairing" the lawn.. after it was a staging post for 40+tons of sand from the pond excavation. It goes down 1.84 meters (over a meter below the window).

A crappy old wall clock. Luckily Lee Valley sells quartz movements for $10 that fit like a glove.
Here the Chinese ones are 50 Rupees....2/3 USD or so.
About half that or less in bulk.
Better try Hanhart or Wellgain (HK) ...Very good.
