I need help on the power on thumps, seems to be growing by the day...but once on, there is no change to performance...no power down thumps though

Great builds here and lot of knowledge. I see some of you are using Audio grade capacitors for C1 and C5. Is this a good alternative to C1 and C5 capacitors?

The Mundorfs would work just fine. I used Clarity 1 uF and a Vishay/BC 1uF PP

All buttoned up and singing on my desk at work. Sounds great with my Thinksound On2's. I did end up swapping the transformer to 18v secondary version of the Talema. Much less heat from the voltage regulators and no detriment to sound that I can tell. Love this HPA!

I use this cap. Not sure if there is any benefits for the sound quality.
I have some extra money to spend and it looks beautiful to me. So I put them in my build.
I use Mundorf Supreme capacitor and they sound lovely. Took me a bit time to fit them nicely 🙂
Considering how low the ripple is from the passive filtering, it's doubtful the 317/337 would be much improvement.
However, It would be interesting to know for sure and very easy to implement. Give it a try!
