.... other fields where the parameters are far better understood, and the consequences of flaky thinking are severe - bridges collapsing, and planes falling out of the sky tend to attract a bit of attention - don't have these problems ...
We have a documentary in the UK, on the national geographic channel called "Aircrash investigation" I used to watch it all the time and you'd be surprised how many plane crashes have been down to design defects. Though, by far the biggest cause is sloppy and at times, even, non existent maintenance, particularly with budget airlines who try to cut costs at every opportunity even it would seem, at the cost of human lives.
Nevertheless, flying still remains safer than getting behind the wheels of a car by several orders of magnitude.
Just wait till you wake up in the home of a psychopathic audiophile, strapped to a wheelchair, forced to listen to various music fragments and repeatedly asked : CAN YOU HEAR IT NOW ?

He, He, nice one.:😀
I think that scene was probably the most disturbing and arguably the best part of the Film.
Have you seen the Michael Mann ( Director ) version of the story called, "Manhunter?"
Ah, the consequences of flaky thinking : "Bridges" colapsing & crash planes at the same time also sometimes : Building 7 !😱
This story remind me the Heinseberg Uncertainty principle !
Ah, the story of the couple and the mistress, I was sure no one ask, I hesitate to talk about Stephan Zweig after some pushed H. Hesse to have a lighter point of view but finally prefered this story as we talk of family, money, job...and life ! :
A married midlle age couple goes in restaurent. The wife sees an other couple they know at the opositte of the restaurent ! Sudenly an amazing beautifull young woman goes at the table of the known couple ! Wife ask to husband : "who is this beautifull young lady who is at the table of the Roberts?"; Husband says "She is the official mistress of the couple, she is for the husband but his wife has no problem with this !"
Scandalize the wife says to husband : "in the same situation I will leave you ! How can this poor Marta can bear that ?"
... Sudenly an other beautifull woman enters in the main room of the restaurent but this time walking to the table of the first middle age married couple !
Husband says to wife " I introduce you our official mistress!"
Wife : "I leave you !"
Husband : "ok, but give me back the keys of our house & Paris flat, the keys of the porsche; give me back too the fur coat for Isabelle here... and forgive the holydays in carabian and the sky in the french Alpes !"
.... wife shout up and think 2 minutes then says " I believe our mistress is far more beautifull than the Roberts' one !"
Uncertainty principle....

People "prescribe" "mellow" happy music readily. However, in my brain, fighting fire with fire is much more effective. In dark states of mind, I need dark music, perhaps a catharsis. My brain grinds on light, happy music in those times. Good way to see just how dark I can go mentally, bring on the Carpenters, or that ilke, and I'll run screaming. Give me a good dose of Univers Zero, Magma, Art Zoyd, and even carefully chosen and sparingly administered Swans or Nick Cave, and while not necessarily good to go, I'll be heading in the right direction.
There are times that I can definitely relate to that, though in general I don't want to listen to music when in a dark space, even though it offers potential salvation.
I remember years back one time I was feeling really irritable and uptight and had nothing to smoke either! I thought it would be a good idea to listen to Phillip Glass. For those not familiar, he writes fairly intense orchestral / operatic pieces with lots of arpeggios in them, pretty intense heady stuff, by no means relaxing. Anyway it was quite a ride, did nothing to promote mental calm, but it was an unforgettable experience, it happened in 1994 I think and I can still remember it clearly!
Whoa last pages are ugly/depressing but I'm still high. Whoa!! Whoaaaaa!! This is awesome.
I'm glad we didn't shatter your calm!
I like this, never heard of him before, sort of reminds me of some of the stuff by the doors. I can see how it would be good smoking music. 🙂

Arpeggio's with guitar for sure...but that isn't relaxing...more like chaos/tense. Diatonic/Major/minor scale stuff,/pentatonic's etc or madness Phrygian /Diminished stuff sounds so sick, with multiple different phrases/trying to get creative etc haha. Really like the Exotic/Tense sounding stuff xD

Glass is definitely in the "Exotic/Tense" category!
Also some of the early Yes stuff and King Crimson, they did the exotic/tense thing too at times and bloody good musicians at that.

No, I'm always thinking/wanting to do the 80sed out, Super fast Phrases/excess delay/reverb/pitch shifters/harmonizer's effects haha, harmonic/overtone madness etc haha
madness in a way, just because of how smooth/accurate a lot of it needs to be played to sound right/correct you know.

I am a bit skeptical of the smoking pot does not cause cancer studies. Weed has been illegal for so long that many people will not admit to smoking it. Could this throw off the statistics? I hope for my sake these studies are correct.....
Don't rule out the possibility that cannabis/THC may have genomic effects which manifest in successive generations.
Your taxpayer dollars at work: "Cytogenetic studies have revealed that cannabinoids induce chromosome aberrations in both in vivo and in vitro studies. These aberrations include chromosomal breaks, deletions, translocations, errors in chromosomal segregation, and hypoploidy, and are due to the clastogenic action of cannabinoids or to cannabinoid-induced disruption of mitotic events or both."

If that were the case we should have been able to see any effects a long time ago. Right up until it was banned cannabis was by far the most prescribed medication.
Cannabis has also been used as a recreational drug for centuries if not millennia.
It's not as if cannabis use is new to humans.

As long as they don't cut the wings and the legs ! WE don't want dwarf hostess !
@ Google :
"
Mr Google : if you read me and looking for a project manager for the futur Google planes after the no driver car project you launched, I'm your man !
Coming from the Windows world, I know how important is a bug, we can work together to a project of "rapid update" in case of problem during the flights !
sincerely yours"
Eldam, a big fan !
What a humor ! And bad maneers... hey it's a herboristic thread ! I'm on the same level than the grass !

Yes, that factor has been identified as well from some of the investigations, a bit scary really! 😱

I had Einstein on the beach, 4 CD's at a cost of £50 and stupidly lent it to a friend at Uni. He dropped out and moved away and the CD's were never seen again!
I still have Akhnatan ( not sure if the spellings correct! ), this was the one I misguidedly tried to chill out to. Very good, though not as good as EoTB. I liked 1000 Airplanes on the roof, a friend had this. Another one I liked was music for 4 organs though I'm not sure if that was Glass or Steve Reich.

So that's why my daughters are as mad as me!

But what we know better now is that too much and regular cunsumption can deteriorate some psychotic illness : in particulary paranoids, scysoids attitudes, iirc ! Being different, Coke do that as well, adding on some subjects agressivity pasages. But fighting against pain in specific organic pain (cancer !), it remains a bad substance for the brain... in a regular cunsumption !
Apart the social risk, stwitching on, triggering something which was here already but not activate yet is a danger with a regular and long time use !

I had the luck to have a girlfriend who get a stage being a Young engineer at Air France in the non-destructive structures control of the planes ! radiography of non destructive structure, micro cracks, etc, on the parts of the structure which are not changed or sometimes glued like some wings parts... It's very serious, I have visited the workshops ! I speak about the checking department when the planes are already made for their maintenance during their life.
Planes are really & deeply checked ! But the own stupidity of people wanting to take the planes of black listed companies for saving 50 dollars for bad holydays and some humans accident or material failure like we had in the Bresil flight with a french plane because of the sensors, planes in modern countries is a serious thing !
Even with fighters, you can crash, despite all is twiced to avoid failures : all the fighters pilots of all the countries can says that : plane can fail during a simple training and you must eject !
Main Low cost companies are serious and most of them has new planes as older ones like regular companies : all the plane are checked with the same rules. There are official black lists or aircraft authorities who list the little bad companies ! Though I were frightened in China during some flights.... more due to the pilots !
