chefsinc, you really shouldn't have your inductors orientated in that way: Placement of coils in crossover networks
thanks for your input. i have measured them with my lcr meter and they are fine. the 2 red solen coils are actually in series for the bass drivers. the other copper film inductors are not being affected by each other as per my measurements.
A decade of DIY speakers...
Hi All,
This link : ImageShack® - Register
Show's some of my speaker designs over the last 10 years or so.
More to follow but about 20 pics so far.
All are all fully active, no passive crossovers at all, no domes or ribbons, only Manger or full range BMR plus olw mid / and or bass.
Line array, two way, three way, sealed box or open baffle.
Acrylic, Alloy, Ply Wood, GRP and Corian / Velstone cabinet material.
Even a pair of one off solid wood horns for the Manger!
It was a blast, hope you enjoy the pics and get some ideas to experiment.
With such high quality PC software (JRiver and JPlay), and low cost but high quality DSP hardware / electronics now is the best time ever to design and build your own speakers.
Also great speaker / room measuremnt software, mics and pre amps / sound cards are all very affordable now.
Great sounding power amps ( Hypex Ncore) that are small and efficient so they can be built into / onto the back of cabinets easily.
Hope this helps inspire!
Cheers
Derek.

It still does not work. 🙂
How to link to image shack?
Most odd...Normally I copy the URL from the tool bar and paste it into whtever link or page I want to post.
I have only just started this image shack page so maybe I am doing something wrong?
Any suggestions please?

I think one just needs an account to see your pictures. They are not wide open to everyone in the public.
Image Shack
Thanks James,
I think you are right, guests have to join up to view the photos.
Only takes a minute and its free so hopefully worth the effort!
Cheers

Either way the link you provided are "generic" Image Shack links, there is no information relating the URL to your account or your pictures... so logged in or not, still impossible to see the albums... 🙁
I think the best way to show pictures in places such as imageshack and photobucket, etc. is to right-click on the picture (making sure it's appropriately sized), then select copy image url. Come back to the forum and type in the code with the pictures url between then two codes.
Photos's and links
Thanks Sirius,
Do these links work?

Here are a few pics...
Manger MSW in a horn structure! 😕😱 it's the most exotic speaker in the world. that's for sure
Manger in solid wooden horn
Hi Oldies,
Yea the twin 15 inch Beyma and Precision Devices on bass and low midrange then Manger above 400Hz is big, heavy, exotic and sound great, but...UGLY!
Zero WAF so they are in the storage room waiting for the days when I can build my dedicated AV room.
Cheers

My DIY speakers
I built these speakers a few years ago to use in my home theater.
Not quite finished, stand and feet will be manufactured in the future.
Built using mainly Dynaudio's drivers.
The material is oak veneer on 30mm MDF
I have used Dynaudio's speaker designs as a basis, and modified them to my driver, that is a little better than the original design.
Sure, you can buy ready-made, but how fun is that? 😛
It took me a few years to collect all my drivers, since Dynaudio not sell drivers to private clients anymore, but it was worth the wait.
Dynaudio Finale, Dynaudio T330D Esotar, Dynaudio D54, Audio Technology 7", Dynaudio 30W100XL, Dynaudio 30SL (new slave, changed from Peerless)
WBT 0702
Crossover for the Finale, modified several times after this picture...

Dynaudio Twynn, as center. Dynaudio T330D Esotar, Dynaudio 17W75XL
Dynaudio Xennon 3, Dynaudio T330D Esotar, Dynaudio D76, Dynaudio 24W100
Dynaudio Xennon 2, Dynaudio T330D Esotar, Dynaudio 24W75XL
A pile of 30mm's MDF, later on with oak veneer.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
