I have already built some regulators for 5V. D2=2.4V, R6=910R, D5=LM4040, U1=AD817
For the proposed modification, R1 should be changed to 5k.
Furthermore, a FET op should be used.
What op amp can be used here?
AD825 doesn't seem suitable (+-5V supply)

One modern opamp I've been using in other applications is the OPA197. Works from 4.5V to 36V, RRIO as well.
Haven't tried in a SR but expect it to work quite well there.
Stay away from opamps specifically marketed for audio - you'd pay too much and the audio specs are irrelevant.

I'm thinking of using the regulator on the DAC as well.
I designed them a few years ago, and using the LT3042 for the analog 5v.
Would using the cascade Jung Regulator (jung->LT3042) be redundant? useless? 🤔
Should I eliminate the LT3042 and put the jung regulator directly on rail 5v?
What is more convenient?

I think that in a practical implementation there is very little difference in performance between the 3042 and a superreg.
So from the performance point of view replacing it doesn't bring you a lot.
Cascading should measurably improve the result in theory but I doubt it will be audible.

Hello, is me again and i hit 2 roadblocks. I cannot figure out the Z6.8 D1/D7, if its 6.8V Zener then im stupid and excuse me. Second problem is that i wont be able to get LM329's but found the PM829 which uses 2 1N5234B diodes back to back as a replacement. I'm asking if any modification have to made to the board to house the replacement. Thx in advance.

D7/D8 are totally uncritical, they are there to place the opamp output 'about' in the middle of the supply range. For +/-15V that's about 7V.
You can use anything from 4.7V to 8.2V.

Thanks for answering Jan, but i'm back with one more question if you don't mind. How much problem would a 2 stage LC and an EMI filter would cause in front of the super reg?

If and when I include a series inductor in a DC supply, I try to find out that particular inductor's "self resonant frequency" . Either by looking it up on the datasheet, or by attempting to measure it on the bench. Then I attempt to devise damping circuitry that will lower the resonant "Q" below 0.5, so the inductor won't oscillate/ring at its self resonant frequency.
Perhaps this is needless paranoia, but the cost is usually very small, while the benefit (peace of mind) is, for me anyway, quite large.
