Hello Vvxuan,

I see where you have 2 designs for 6 inch speakers. One is slimmer with the driver and port centred in the speaker and another design which is a wider box with the port offset to one side. I have built the slimmer version with the speaker and port centred. Do they both sound the same or do they sound different?

Thanks

Andrew
Dear Andrew!
Two designs have sound the same. Option slimmer and tall easy of construction.
If you don't like version slimmer and tall, you can carry out follow this form.

At the corner of the square you use the piece of wood with size:

Hi VVXUAN,very interesting design for the Klangfilm driver. I have Siemens L307 (6 rug lap 15M). This is 9.6" total diameter, 8.46" cone diameter. Is this similar to your Klangfilm speaker? I am interested in your design TL design and I am interested in seeing what is possible without losing midrange quality which is very good with this speaker. Thanks!

Thank Schlumberger!
My klangfilm is smaller. Please wait me for about 1 month, I'm designing enclosures for driver 10inch, it will be better quality sound and better suited to your driver.

Hello again Vvxuan,

Thank you your drawings and for all your help. I had no idea about those sound absorbing materials. I have some egg crate foam but it is foam and not cotton. I have never seen the one made of cotton before. I am going to use the carpet felt I bought yesterday. Hopefully I will get them finished enough this weekend to be able to test them. Maybe I will glue them up instead of making one side removable, not sure yet. When I work on them again tomorrow I will see how much time I have available and then decide.

Thanks again.

Andrew

sounds good!

Built the 13mm cabinet suggested by vvxuan, here it is.

Pioneer A11, "el cheapo" speakers I had laying around, new drivers never used, unfortunately long discontinued. I followed the steps and I lined it with the felt pad I had gotten it from uhaul when I moved, no polyfil etc. Works like a charm, lined about 80% of the inside.

First day of listening and sounds full, checked with "online tone generator" and I hear a little rumble down to 50Hz, amazing. Still have to put on finish and going to make a pedestal and make a room in my home...

Here is the video I uploaded on my youtube channel.

thanks vvxuan.

Oh, very nice. Thank gychang for believe me! 50hz for driver only 13cm is very good.
Small Tip for you: One way to record video clips with sound quality is better and simpler. When recording video you should use a laptop with webcam its software.

I have a camera Nikon D7000, when I use Nikon - video good but audio no good. I use web cam on laptop video no good (no need) but audio quite good.
All my video, I used toshiba satellite L645, I think if you use Sony or Aple will better. Very easy! 😀, You try to record your music using your laptop to see the difference.

finished product

I put 2 coats of polyurethane and put on the speaker cover of my design. I have a grand daugher who is curious...

Wife likes the speakers for movie watching, I am thinking these speakers are too low, is there a taller design ( 3-4 feet) for the same 4 1/2 inch driver. Same as these GRS 4FR-8 Full-Range 4-1/2" Speaker Pioneer Type A11EC80-02F 8 Ohm

The picture is dark, TV is much taller than speakers on the sides so I like to a taller design.

Those speakers lol great. Nice job!

I might have to add those GRS to the lineup of drivers to test.

thanks for the personalized service.

Give me few weeks to build this.

Hi gychang!
I've drawn the design enclosures for 4,5inch type. if you use the 1.5 cm thick wood, the size of the enclosures will be H110cm W17cm and D29,5cm.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
