I have had some people ask me so I am gonna post this here: first chassis we have produced back in December are all out of stock but we are currently producing them and I think they should be ready before the end of the month 🙂
It's thrilling to hear that your entire first production run has sold out! Congratulations. I hope you receive a ton of additional sales, ensuring that your upfront, fixed, R&D costs and tooling costs, eventually are paid back, many many times over.
Thank goodness I already bought the chassis back in December! I have really been looking forward to this build.
How many kits did they make? I got an email and went to the site, all sold out. It would be best to have 150+ for the next go around.
150 or more in a single batch? You’ll be waiting about three+ months for that to be collected all together. They are going to be sent about 40-50ish at a time as parts are received and processed. I am currently waiting on shipments from 3 suppliers at this very moment before the next batch can have all the constituent parts bagged and the kits packed up and sent to the fulfillment company.
Today’s batch was 38. It sold out in less than an hour. There has never been demand for a product like this, so you’ll have to be patient, it’s uncharted territory.
Believe me, it’s worth the wait, Pearl 3 sounds absolutely fantastic. In the meantime order the PSU kit from Randy and the Chassis from Gianluca. Get the chassis connections and hardware, etc…
😎

This is from this evening. Bagging up resistors. There’s about 12,000 in this photo.
Thanks for all of your hard work Jim. Shipping them in lots of ~40 to 50 sounds like a great idea to me.
You must have a very understanding wife for things to be spread out on the kitchen counter like that!

Absolutely! This went even better than I expected. Working with Jim and Randy is always great and we have plans to release more chassis for other projects too in the futureIt's thrilling to hear that your entire first production run has sold out! Hello All,
This is an amazing diyAudio project.
This project has a little bit of everything for everyone:
Power supply,
Discrete Jfets,
Capacitance multiplier,
Cascode,
Op-Amps to roll,
Active and Passive Equalization, IEC Amendment,
And a discrete push pull output stage included in the op-amp feedback loop, it also controls DC on the output.
Yet it is simple enough that most folks can get it to work if they follow instructions and manage to solder all the connections.
Thanks to All
DT

I have been listening to Pearl 3 for a few weeks now. I built it with an OPA1656 Opamp and using Mark Johnsons UDP3 PSU - it is by far, the best RIAA stage i have heard. 😎 🍷
Details are clear (and pleasant highs), big sound stage and great bottom end as well.

LOL
The builders at this Pearl 3 project are like starvingly hungry sharks in the waters at the store when a piece of juicy audio meat are trown over board from there. 🙂
I am actually backing off for a while here and thus giving you hungry sharks a bigger chance for a really juicy bite.
I have got to many very fine audio projects here to complete first. But sooon… 🎺🙂🎸

Yesterday I could order the kit and wanted to order the nice Modushop chassis today and "sold out" ...

Wayne's BA2018 is my main preamp...it's so articulate and precise. As soon as I found out he had designed this for phono-level signals I had to get & build it. It's gotta be worth waiting for..LOL

Hello All,
While we wait.
It is interesting as the BA2018 evolved the output transistors morphed into A004B and C004B's. The same transistors as in the P3.
I am thinking that I may like the idea of a new generation op-amp with A004B and C004B's in the feedback loop in the Next-Gen line stage.
Thanks DT

This sounds like a fantastic idea for a project! Go for it!
