It's MM(AT-VM95ml)
I tried with 220pf,more comfortable.
And tried several settings.
I read some ppl saying P3 have more gain than Salas's phono but mine is not.
For XLR, I need another pair cable so have not tried yet.

MM gain - jumper installed
MC gain - jumper open
This photos shows MC gain
The AT-VM95ml should be very loud and overloading the circuit with the gain in MC.
What opamp are you using?

I tried several opamps Muses01,Muses8920 etc.
When I closed jumper, there was no sound for too less gain.
I think I will buy from store that It's available now.

49 dB gain would be 1 Volt output with the VM95 ml so plenty loud enough (not as loud as digital sources though, but this is normal for phono). AT cartridges favor low capacitance, so try 100 pF or no capacitive loading at all. With higher capacitance they might sound bright.
Anyone? The suggested SPST switch for the PSU in the build doc is the 100SP1T1B1M1QEH rated at 120V AC.
Is it safe to use it also in 230V countries?
Thanks! 🙏The spec rating is 120V.
I would go with that.
i.e. the answer to your question is "no".
And thanks Jim to make this even simpler. 😀
I would suggest to add a note to the build doc for the fellows across the pond. 👍
Finally got off my butt and got back to getting this phono preamp done. Working the umbilical today. XLR connector left then calling it a day. Next weekend will be getting the actual preamp circuit up and running.
Or, contrarily, especially in marital circumstances.except in marital circumstances.
I am sorry that I forgot fixing clone PCB error.
My Pearl 3 working well.
Clean,detailed and good bass.

Have finally finished the third build of P3 -- was delayed because of a rebuild of my equipment racks.
Besides positionning and cosmetic changes, there was only one other alteration -- R27 was adjusted on the bench so that both channels had the same current: 4.9mA for the right and 4.87mA for the left (close enough for government work, right?). This required 560R and 600R parts.
Initial listening tests suggest two minor improvements in the soundstage. Soloists panned dead center are placed more accurately between the two speakers and orchestral instruments panned to the rear have a bit more sense of accurate depth. Of course, YMMV, and this is only the case for my equipment -- a VPI turntable with Hana ML (MC) cartridge feeding the P3 to a 2018 Colburn linestage, Aleph monoblocks, then to Tekton Double Impact speakers. The room is well tuned and this makes a great deal of improvement in the soundstage imaging.
Because of the good results (however minor) am going to redo the first two builds to achieve this same mA matching.
One fine piece of audio equipment and have now completed my PhonoStage needs for the forseeable future.

Hello, just curious if anybody has thought about using this as a mic pre? Bypassing the Riaa eq seems feasible. A few more kinks to work out I am sure. It just sounds so good as a phono pre! I guess am looking for an excuse to put another one together.
Seems like a perfectly reasonable idea, yeah, give it a shot! You'll need to adjust gain and such, but that's straightforward.
Would love to hear about how you do it and how it all works.

I listened with XLR output.
Probably there are a lot of my set up issue,
Xlr set up sounds so good, amazing bass.

I listened vinyl few hours with XLR,
I want to listen more and more, enjoyed how it sounds.
tried muses01,muses05 X2,muses8920.
01 sounds softer,05 sounds more clear,8920 sound clear, a little thinner.
When XLR output,somehow I preferred muses8920 (3.5usd) for me.
Separate chaissis took time to build, glued iron plate on lid, eventually it was worth taking time and satisfied.
Thank you so much for wonderful project!

yay for not re-familiarizing myself on the build guide before starting "git it done" mode. Can anyone guess what critical step I skipped? I'll figure out how to make it work tomorrow.
