New Fonken pair is born.

Ah, the pictures never work for me so I am usually forced to ask for a reasonable accomodation -- tactile is the preferred modality.

Glad to hear that they're also getting raves in the aesthetics department too -- though with Chris on the job it was pretty much a given.

They're going to look great on the custom solid maple stands I already had made for them.

Chris and Dave, just try to keep the droolers away this weekend -- or at least at a safe distance 🙂.

Hey, now there's a question -- what do they weigh?

Just took a quick look for some of the Macassar veneer. Ahem, not cheap. US$550.00 for an Architectural grade 4 X 8. 1/42" thick sheet.

I better stick with Formica or cupboard self stick covering sheets!

I wonder if its too early to ask Santa for a Christmas gift?

this one wasn't quite so much (trade pricing on special product and all)

My wife just happened by and I showed her the picture Dave posted. "WOW! Now *those* are gorgeous!" "Are those really the ones we're getting???"

I think she was impressed 🙂.

Always nice when you can get the WAF stamp of approval in advance. Some surprises haven't gone over all that well.

Chris,

That's what I'm looking for anyway -- the weight I'll have to pick up to set them on the stands, etc.

As they're still at home, the only method I have to weigh them is an old bathroom scale - the absolute accuracy of which is suspect, but in any case they tally in at approx 28lbs.

Hello Fran,

I am currently building a pair of fonken's and was wondering how to connect the parts of the correction network you described.

Thanks for all the great info.

I'm not Fran, but I think the circuit looks like the following:
