Check that led out of circuitPotentially a dead controller?
I got +15 and -15v. J1 with 2 and 3 bridged. 3.3v on X1.6
No LED blink or anything when powered on.
No luck, I have a scope, can I hook that to a pin to see if there's a heartbeat?Switch power on during encoder pressed and check the led again.
No heartbeat.
You can check the spi lines to the muses.
After power on the controller initialize the muses one time.

I think I got it running. with the help of my apple tv remote. The question is can I use apple TV remote to program it to run in balance mode? or do i need a remote with buttons.
Did you change anything in the posted gerbers to be able to use the 32ppr?
If you have another board/bourns to spare, I'd be happy to take it.
There are no changes related to number of ppr EM14 encoder has. As Meldano’s V2 volume control has adjustable volume step per one pulse, from 0.25 to 2 dB, encoder with 64 ppr is a better choice.
I've finally soldered all boards (main / controller / volume).
I have a transformer. It has secondary 18-0-18(center-tap not dual), 8-0-8(center-tap not dual).
I've connected the transformer and main board like this ( https://www.diyaudio.com/community/attachments/img_4612-jpg.949600/ ) and heard weird sound (du-du-du-du-du) from the transformer.
Is this connection not possible?
Do I need to purchase a new transformer that has secondary dual 18-0 and single 8-0 ?

That's a good question. I used an 18x2 and a 9x2. But I can't imagine why a center tap wouldn't work.
How does your DC read after the regulators?

Please show us the connection between transformer and the pcb.
You can also connect the digital or analog line separate and check/measure the behavior.

The connection is like this.
- Connect only the 18-0-18 line and measure the dc voltage after the regs
- Connect only the 0-8 line and measure the dc voltage after the regs
- Connect only the 0-8 line and measure the dc voltage after the regs
I ordered a new transformer that has dual 18V and single 8V.- Connect only the 18-0-18 line and measure the dc voltage after the regs
- Connect only the 0-8 line and measure the dc voltage after the regs
I will try with that later.
Thank you.
Could someone please let me know which header to use to stack the volume attenuator to the main board? I thought I had followed the BOM to the letter, however the pins aren't long enough.

I've bought two stackable 10 pin headers like below.

Thanks 👍. Those were missing from the BOM 😃. Still have to work out how to set all the jumpers, but than I'm good to go.
Could someone please explain how I should have the jumper settings for unbalanced using Main board, controller and volume ?
