Congratulations on having your arrays up and running! You really work super fast!
I'd love to hear more about your impressions, especially if you experiment with different toe-in angles or different speaker placements/listening positions and so on... 🙂

Thank you guys - just got home from a weekend getaway and will start to attempt finetune the arrays and get REW up and running 🙂
The suggested music tips are appreciated, I saw a few familiar identities but most are not well known to me 🙂 Heard of, not familiar with 😉
The array have been playing all weekend and should about now have about 200hrs on them so I will consider break-in period for completed 😀

I also have a music suggestion to get a taste of range, dynamics, stereo image and transients.
Check out Touch Yello (better get 720p or above HD).
Yello - Takla Makan (Feat. Dorothee Oberlinger) - YouTube

I had some free time so I made a Youtube list of all the songs suggested here. All songs are 480p quality or better. I also added some of my personal favourites I like to use for testing as well. You can find it here:

I should have picked: 'The Pirate That Should Not Be' - Hans Zimmer feat: Rodrigo y Gabriela 😀
But I like that whole soundtrack...

Mayuri,
Thanks for putting that YouTube playlist together! Really made it easy for me to what some of the selections by yourself and others. This link should be cited on the first post or will get lost.

Thanks again for the suggestions and also to mayuri for putting up a playlist 🙂
Have only had brief time to use the arrays and have used that time to listen to music, not analyze it 🙂 I am currently tiling a room in our basement that take most of my time at the moment, honey-do... 😉
However I have come to the conclusion that my drivers arent airtight against a smooth MDF-surface, I can feel them leaking out to the side during low frequency playback. Any suggestions for gasket material? I need to remove all drivers anyhow in order to paint the MDF 🙂

I'd say thin neoprene rubber would be suitable. But I used 3M strip calk in my test speaker because I had it around. It is meant to seal al kinds of stuff in cars.
Now you know why I had the double baffle idea 😀.

Indeed 🙂 I expected proper sealing to be required since the Vifa TC9 comes with gasket material on the outside 🙂 I have considered making a new front baffle allowing rear mount which also double the baffle thickness. Then I can also incorporate some sort of a wave guide...

You can carefully remove the front gasket and glue it to the backside with rubber cement (which is removable easily). I use thin EVA foam sheets used for crafts - in the US you can buy from any art or craft store like Michaels'. I have also seen it at dollar stores. Many times they come in bright colors for decorating and not just black. It works really well and is very similar to the gasket that comes on the front of Vifa. Cutting 40 of those foam gaskets by hand can be a chore though. Plumbers' putty works too but leaves an oily residue.

I did try to remove the gasket of one speaker but didnt find it particulary easy to do properly, fail ratio with 40drivers would equal few 😉 I have a couple of ideas for suitable materials, will test tonite.
But yeah, hand cutting 40 pcs will be a chore but so was mounting 160 screws 😱

Don't do that!.....you'll wind up with all sorts of diffraction with 35mm deep hole. Rear mounting on a single ply baffle is fine.

Mayhem, sorry for not being clear 🙂
My idea if I go along with it will create a mdf-vifa-mdf sandwich. The current front baffle is glued to the cabinet and no Vifa can enter its cavity 😉
If this is a sealed box you only need the airtight seal to ensure that the driver's excursion is well controlled at xmax. The leak is probably small and not going to influence cone excursion that much. Given that these are high Qts drivers I think it is probably ok to have slight leaks. If this was a TL or BLH then leaks are bass killers - but probably not critical here.
