Hello Carsten,
Do you think the ones from Pollin are fakes?
J-FET, Kleinsignaltransistor, ON Semiconduktor, J112, N-Channel, TO-92 online kaufen | Pollin.de
I recently ordered some J113 from them for a possible ACP+ built but I have not tested them yet.
Regards
Stephan

@mgb1965,
I don't if they are fakes but a friend of mine bought 50 (I think not from Pollin) and had no pairs, so no option for me.

My friend has a tube amp in his setup that I've always found is having exaggerated depth of the sound stage, and is very pleasantly sounding. After reading Nelson's article I texted him, asking him to reverse the polarity of his speakers and asked "tell me what you hear". "Slightly more up front vocals" he replied - intriguing.
After all he is a former engineer at ScanSpeak. I consider his "listening abilities" very good.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I still find my H2 to be my favorite preamp.
I spent some time thinking about a new chassis for it- working from the usual DIY starting points of interesting and cheap. Eventually, I found myself in the world of vintage PA amplifiers which cover both points, easily.
I bought this one from Ebay and paid more in shipping than for the amplifier. I'm a sucker for the "fake wood made from metal" look exterior. It's a small chassis with plenty of room for the H2. I was bit bummed that I couldn't use the vintage knob on the volume pot. Since the volume control is the only one now working on the faceplate, making the knob a different shape is probably a good thing.
I just need to connect an LED to the power supply and get my red lamp lit.

Hi Papa P:
Having recently built both the B1 & the B1 Korg, I’d like to try adding on the H2 after the B1. I see I can have the PCBs made (no issues there) but do you have any matched jfets (for the H2) that I can buy from you? I see there are no matching resistors like there are in the B1, correct?
Many thanks,
Pete

Pete, I'd be happy to grab a board if you get them made. Indeed, I could probably order 10 or so and make them available.
I've never tried matching JFETs myself, but maybe I can buy a bunch when they're back in stock and try that, too? Somewhere here I think there are instructions for that.

I can make some selected / matched jfets available. Who wants to organize the list and handle shipping?

A reputable company.

Hi Nelson, since I started this I can handle the USA folk. Rikiheck & I can figure out who gets the boards made.
Many thanks, Pete

That would be great! Papathanks!!! 🙂
It would be nice to have in the PCB a socket for a panel voltmeter, like on Sit-1...

Going forward with H2
So this is what I’ve pieced together from the forum concerning the newer H2 boards we’ll be dealing with:
The new PCB from Nelson’s ZIP file (post #223)
The voltage measurement points from Nelson (post #256) and further discussion in posts #s 532&533
The new PCBs schematic? posted by Mark J (post#127).
I have this correct?
Cheers, Pete

You will want the version with the dual regulators which have passive RC
filters after the regulators, labeled V1 R0. The versions you show are simpler
but have the regulator noise.
I can get a batch of those made.

Thank you Nelson! If you want one of us to have them made either post the Zip or PM it.
