Can anyone weigh in on using IRFP240 in place of IRFP150 (or 2SK3497) in EUVL J2 current source position?
It’s been said that the irfp150 is essentially two irfp240 in one package. Max dissipation of the 240 is 150W and the 150 is 230W, so maybe a little more piece of mind with the 150’s. Of course, also a little more capacitance (though that may not be as critical for CCS).
I’ve tried SJEP120R100, IRFP150, and IRFP240 in the current source positions of Aleph and J2-ish circuits. They all did their job just fine, and I’d be happy using any of them. Right now I use the 240 and it sounds just as good as ever.

My 2 SJEP120R100 made their way over the great pond, thanks again to codyt and to Mr. Pass. The Aleph J looks tempting to me especially with RainfallSkys PCB, I don't need much power, even 5 W will be sufficient

Yes. That's the only change beyond eliminating current protection (q3) and one set of ccs and output.
