Hello friends, needeed bom list components for send to LCSC in mouser bom list is error and no function, thanks
Hello, it's probably best to make your own list since there are multiple options choices in the BOM.Hello friends, needeed bom list components for send to LCSC in mouser bom list is error and no function, thanks
Unless someone gives you their own personal list that you can follow and send in for order.
But then you will not have component choices of your own etc.
Depends on your budget and the goal you are aiming for.
Hi guys, I almost completed my Wolverine build and I noticed a weak hum on both channels with the boards not connected with the RCA sockets on the rear panel and which completely disappears if I short the each input. I noticed that the hum disappears also when I connect the amp to the pre (a B1 Nutube). What could it be? What should I check?
Thank you,
Gaetano.

Hello all
I am building wolverine with boards from the first group buy. I'm selecting components for the power supply, I've already bought the 800VA, 2x43v transformer, I'm thinking of putting together a 3x10000uF group for the power supply per channel, is that enough, or should I do 4x10000uF?
Best regards
Carlos

It's personal preference, a total of 80.000 uF for a stereo amp will probable work OK, but lots users install considerable more.
I myself am using 4 x 36.000 uF, for 144.000 uF total
Post #834 claims a stunning total of 544.000 uF.
Aside from the capacitance, a low ESR and a high MTBF are important properties.

80000uF is enough and the choice is yours,Hello all

I went ultra extreme.
2000va 50Vac transformer and 8 X 68000uF caps in total, running a duel mono PSU setup.
With rising energy prices, is this really a good choice? 🙂I went ultra extreme.

Haha yeah, still way more efficient than my Class A amplifiers. With rising energy prices, is this really a good choice? 🙂
This Wolverine of mine set to correct bias levels, draws 140W from the wall for both channels on idle.
Hi Guys,
Does anyone have any preference or thoughts about whether best to use TTA004BQ's & TTC004BQ's, or to use SA1381E's and SC3503E's for my build (~50v dc rails, 8 ohm speakers)?
My original Mouser order some time ago for the TTC's were out of stock at the time (I did get the TTA's), so as an alternative I obtained the SA's and SC's from @fireanimal (many thanks @fireanimal!). Mouser have now advised that stocks have replenished and that my outstanding order has been shipped at last, so I'll now end up with a full compliment of the TTA's & TTC's as well!
I'm guessing (it's only a guess) that the 'E's' should be better quality that the 'TT's' and so I should use the 'E's', but is there any opinion about this from you guys more experienced than me?
PCB's are stuck at a PO sorting hub here in UK, general feeling is it might take some time (weeks?!) for them to move on from there ....
Any advice or guidance welcomed!

We are in the process of testing the TT transistors as the results from the curve tracer plots that I did recently revealed that the TT transistors have basically no quasi saturation region compared to the KSA, KSC, 2SA, 2SC options.Hi Guys,

The TT transistors have a VCE voltage limit of 160v so they are ok for up to 65v rails as per the latest BOM. I'll update you all one we know the results.
So if you can hold off a week or two we should know the results.

An amazing find Stuart, those curves are remarkable. Reminds me of lecture ideals vs crappy lab results in electronics 101...
Thanks Stuart,
Hmmm ..., very interesting! I'm presuming you meant quasi saturation region? Does this suggest that the TTC's might indeed be the better choice here (at lower voltages?), but I'll hang fire for a while until you conclude your checks - as I mentioned, it may well be a few weeks before I get my pcb's anyway.

Indeed. Typo.. should have been saturation. I've asked the admin team to fix it 🙂
We will be testing a bunch of things to see which is the preferred transistor.

Thanks for the replays, I think I'll stick with 4x10000uF or even better, 5x10000uF, as it's more rewarding to order 10 capacitors than 8 from Mouser.

I am considering a dc power supply. Build guide says 20-30 dc one should be fine. I presume something like this will do the job?

For Start up testing yes, but you will need two of them (to make duel rail), and ensure they are floating design types (they need to be hooked up together to make duel rail power).I am considering a dc power supply. Looks like it is floating
Question:
Is the black cable a negative voltage with respect to ground? Will it read -5V for example if connected to a multimeter?
Answer:
No. The red terminal is at plus whatever you set it to with respect to the black terminal. Red and black are free floating with respect to ground. What you described in your question is called a dual rail power supply.
