That HexiBase guy has some nice gear for audio testing and playing around with. His little TL box wasn’t too bad sounding. Someone should make a 0.40x scale Karlsonator with 3D printing - but I suspect much quicker and cheaper to make out of foam core. Probably better sounding too as panels have built in damping.
The 3FE25 sounds absolutely wonderful with Karlsonator (also a TQWT mass loaded and with acoustic lens aperture for wide dispersion).
Here is a recent example using a 3FE22 which also works well.

Hm, 3D printed you say...now I know what I will do in Fusion360 next time🙂 0.4 x all the dimensions of the original plan? Wall thickness 5 mm should be fine I think.

Yes, my printer is 300 x 300 x 420. I scaled the 0.53 drawing to 0.4 and it scaled to 9 mm wall from 12 mm, so that is what I will use. I will post the STL for review when it is ready.
Pelanj,
You are the king of 3D printed speakers, man!
Thanks!

Please post in 0.53x Karlsonator thread your STL file. That is a new way for someone to make a speaker without actually cutting anything.

...3Fe25 would look like... which is the largest that i can print in mt printer (200X200X200).
The miniOnken i have the 3FE22 in could be made to fit within your printer constraints.

Well, this clearly shows, who the king is. I am more like a third born prince who never gets the crown🙂
That is way cool! Hope you print it.

Thank you very much, I put some more time to it and now i have something that is somewhat close to the 0,25 that is printable.
I have to do it in two parts, since it would be impossible to mount the driver otherwise.. 🙂

Well I just found your thread of 3D printed things and so far you are well ahead of me for printing audio related stuffs.
Do you mind if i post my Successful prints with STL there?
I have never modeled a 0.25x scale Karlsonator before. Not sure if it will sound good. Was the reason that 0.4x is too large to print?

To be honest i just thought it looked cute, and will hopefully sound better than my built in monitor speakers. 97% of the time i use headphones but i guess for the other 3% of the time 🙂
I started printing now so by the end of the week i should have a working pair!
Following with interest. I've thought about plastic speaker cabinets and wondered if that very thin rubber) bitumen strip that's sticky one side would dramatically deaden them. I think locally it's called maltoid.
Very cool and cute! Don’t forget to add melamine foam on chamber behind driver and even some in front chamber behind the wing.
Next time you wind up akabak, do you mind run a 0,25 with the 3fe25 to see what ballpark I could expect? I should be able to measure afterwards so would be interesting to see how far apart they will be.I have never modeled a 0.25x scale Karlsonator before. Not sure if it will sound good.
