What could be the cause of those clicks ?
Do you use standard filter pack?
Is you PCM stream correct (not larger than 24bit 192k)?
Yes, I use the default filter (I didn't touch any parameters - don't fit the serial port).
Not larger than 24b/192k. The same source used with another DAC don't click at all.

It's a fantasy feature. Vapourware. Will be implemented one day, or whenever the designer gets 10 minutes to spare 😛
I don’t think Soren has implemented the I2S header yet in firmware. The USB connection is connected to the other I2S DAC input.
The firmware is done to support the 2nd i2s port, including autodetect, just need some more testing and cleanup before release...
I have a dam 1921 which has ended up in a state where it only outputs in mono.
How could that happen?
Powered off, it measures 60 ohm between the L+ and R+ pin.

Can't really be a hardware issue. Have you changed settings in uManager ? What channel does it output ?
And no, it measures 30 ohm between each output and gnd, the mute jfets are about 30 ohms when muting. If you need to check output impedance, do it while powered on, but without music playing.

Well, as it outputs mono, a short between the channels was suspected - hence the idea to measure the resistance between the channels rather than against ground.
If it outputs combined L+R mono or one channel mono must be verified.
An out-of-phase signal (CD phase test) becomes silent.
On the 1921, what command/setting can produce mono?
Manual says:
set par=value set paramter to value, set alone to show
conspeed = 9600 | 19200 | 38400 | 57600 | 115200
volume = fixed -80 - +10, line output startup volume
filter = linear | mixed | minimum | soft
mode = normal | parallel

Soekris is the J2 connector on the Dac1541 for i2s output, or is it for flashing xmos firmware ?

J2 on dam19x1 is for manufacturing test.
Well, as it outputs mono,
I'm not sure what you're saying, are you trying to run it in mono ? That wouldn't make sense on a dam1921.
Should be at normal mode, parallel is for dam1941 only.
Let me check the mode settings and the audio path, maybe I have missed something.
Not trying at all. I want stereo. But cant get out of mono. I dont know how it got into this.

Confirmed that both channels are mixed to mono as the test track "this is left channel", "this is right channel" is both audible but centred between the loudspeakers i.e. mono. The center test is OK, the out-of-phase test becomes silent.

Double check your player software and what else you have. The dam1921 don't have hardware to mix two channels, only to select channels. Unless the two channels are shorted somewhere.....
Logitech media server on Synology NAS via optical or Windows media player on pc via USB.
Same result.

OK, I know it's not documented anywhere, but the first 8 biquads are reserved for the crossfeed function, that could mix the two channels as mixing the two channels is needed for the crossfeed function.
Try moving your biquads filters up to 24-30.

OK. I wrote something longer but....
Please describe how to do cross-feed? Is it possible in all DAMs?
So it's only 7 left for user in 1941?

No crossfeed is a function added in dac1421/dac1541, and the dam1941 is based on the dac1541 so it support crossfeed.
For those who don't know crossfeed, it's a function to be used with headphones to reduce the with of the soundstage to simulate speakers. The dac1541/dam1941 do it using digital filters that mixed the two channels.
Try google if you need more info.
Correct, the first 8 biquads is reserved for the crossfeed so there is only 7 left for the user. I didn't expect that to be a problem, but if needed I can add a software switch to disable to crossfeed function.
The filter file is on the website, new firmware will come up very soon.

Where can I find a 1941 FW/filter file? I would like to factory reset my DAC please?
