DAC ES9038 PRO Group Buys

Hi Quanghao,

Have your tried to implement the ES9038 board with electrolytic capacitors in the power supply instead of Aluminium Polymer capacitors ?

I have an impressions that Aluminium Polymer capacitors are not best use for audio circuitry.

ok, and see schema for this cap!
thanks

@Quanghao

Can I bypass your AC input and feed directly 5VDC somewhere ?

thank you
Pepe

I think it's unnecessary, because the power supply is designed very carefully.

The lt3042 is great!

Therefore, you be careful, otherwise you will kill the DAC. I will not be responsible for doing this.

If you want to take a look at this picture!

Quanghao

What will make this better than the new OPPO DAC?

James

Hi Jewilson,

This DAC was designed with Hi Fi audiophile in mind but will need some DIY effort.

For example, it uses 7 X LT3042 high performance regulators to feed the ES9038Pro. And you have the flexibility to choose the output analog stages yourself. And Quanghao recommends to use Lundahl output transformer LL1684 for the time being.

The OPPO Dac uses op-amp in the output stages which to my mind cannot bring out the best of this ES9038pro dac chips. Op-amp generally sound harsh and not musical to my taste. (Your milage May Varies). Generally they are chosen simply for their convenience.

But do bear in mind you will need some DIY effort if you choose this DAC from Quanghao.
