Hmmm I forgot real world is anything but ideal...
I'm curious how you measure your speakers impedance.
That spendor s6 seems to be really beautiful speakers!
Best regards

Yeah, I kinda like 'em. Although they take up a lot of space in my small attic room and thus I've been looking to replace them with something smaller lately...
Did the measurements with LIMP, part of the ARTA software suite. Check out the help file, that tells you how to do it.

Thanks Preamp for the Limp trick on ARTA software.

The "Other" TPA3118 Mono Module
I picked up a pair of the less popular TPA3118 mono boards. I think these used to be several dollars more apiece at one time and not as abundant, but they are now only .50 or so more expensive and lots of sellers.
First off, as can be seen, board is somewhat larger (4x5.5 vs 3.5x4.5 cm). PCB thickness is a bit heavier at 1.5mm vs. 1.2mm. Capacitors are higher capacity and voltage 470uF/35v (ChongX) vs. 330uF/25v and are through hole vs. SMD, though not necessarily easier to deal with, as the pads can’t take much heat. SMD devices are all larger, indicating higher voltage rating for these capacitors and resistors. Inductor is 33uH vs. 10uH. Note also that inductors are much heavier construction, potted, and landing pads on the pcb are also larger, so more suitable for replacement inductors, if one wishes. The smaller pcb requires some finagling to fit replacement inductors.
Input capacitance on the board (C18/C19) is 1uF and gain is set at 36dB. Input capacitance is 3.3uF on the smaller board. The 1uF value results in a 3dB drop at 20Hz, 10uF would be needed here to keep things flat down to 20Hz, this per the datasheet.
One of the caps looks oversized, one broke off in shipping and that one is a replacement.
The larger board already comes with its terminals installed and their location, with the input and output terminals opposite the power terminal, seems like a better layout.
I will hook these up at some point and decide for myself it they sound as good as the other.

here it comes my friend😉😉😉
perfk TPA3118 PBTL Digital 60W Audioverstarker: Amazon.de: Elektronik
about 4,21 euros......🙂
chris
I got them from this vendor for $2.78 each. Came from China, took two weeks to the US.

Hi the input trace seem to connect to R8/C1 instead of C18/C19 on that board.
C18/C19 seems to be some output snubber parts.

Yes, you are correct.
Hi , I would like to ask if anybody has some experience with this 2.1 tpa3118 board. It sounds quite good but it has really annoying background noise , which strangely decreases when You turn the volume knoob down . Does anybody have a fix for it ?

Problem with TPA3118
I have several modules with TPA3118. In testing, I found out at several pieces of modules output limit, ie the loudspeaker is disconected at high output power. After some seconds the amplifier returns into normal state. Does anyone have experience with this problem?

These chokes (coils) can probably handle 3A (peak) then they start saturating. When they saturate, their impedance becomes almost like short-circuits and the amplifier output lines look straight into the output filter capacitances. For audio frequencies, that is less severe but for the 400KHz carrier frequency it is like looking into a short-circuit. Then the amplifier limiter circuits cutt-off the amplifier.
Solution: bigger output filter chokes.

Is it possible to use 2 boards and bridge become 1 channel?
Let say one board output is 60w (mono) then is it possible to add another board to become 120w?

It is already BTL coupled (designed like that) and if mono, already PBTL coupled as well. The PBTL version (mono) can do close to 120W (absolute maximum) in a 2 Ohm load. No further board can be added.
Good cooling needs to be implemented.

And add a heatsink.
