I have had good luck with the Jasper circle cut jig. Mine will cut a circle from 1.5 inch to 18 inch diameter.

I have the same one and it is good, the only downside is that it only goes up in fixed increments so sometimes getting a really tight fit is hard.I have had good luck with the Jasper circle cut jig. Mine will cut a circle from 1.5 inch to 18 inch diameter.

The small jig made in this video looks very useful to me, as the larger one shown in there is too.
Hey!Yes, I understand, FA251 is only 125 Watts into 8 Ohm. FA501 is 270 Watts, and FA123 in BTL-mode is 250 Watts.
So, Seems like Im an idiot... My Hypex setup was as follow: Using the analog Crossover of the Speaker to do the job
I had enough of not having good bass so I just removed the bass crossover section and connected the Hypex directly to the BMS Driver using Troels pre-written graphs which looks like this:
Then I have noticed that all this time my Hypex was set at -96DB Gain... Thats why I always had the gain knob turned all the way up... Idiot!!!
So, I have set the gain right, uploaded the pre-written cross (using the Preset 2 with 4db boost... ) and discovered a whole new world.
So I am taking back what I said about the Hypex... Though would be even better to have the FA501... or 1000Wattts per Channel Like TheoSeawden suggested.
Really incredible what this BMS can do!
Haha, beautiful. Looking forward for another video of yours!
Are you not using the analoge crossover for bass anymore at all now?
As I had said before, I could not hear a difference between the 75 Watts into 8 Ohm and 250 Watts into 8 Ohm BTL-mode setup. Only that after I had changed to a smaller enclosure and different bass driver (from Faital 12PR320 to PHL 3411) I needed much more energy for my assisted 6th-order tuning when playing peaks. This is because the enclosure is "too small" without assist.

I'm glad you found out the issue! I must admit I was puzzled by your perception of having more bass on a 18" woofer powered by a SET amp vs hypex!!! Now I know why it sounded that way, it was basically a SET amp vs nothing 😀Then I have noticed that all this time my Hypex was set at -96DB Gain... Ho well, it has also the advanteges of discovering your speaker abilitys driver by driver and every week unfold a new discovery 😊
Ho man... well now that we have bass its time to see if I can adress the room modes as you suggested.Haha, beautiful. Looking forward for another video of yours!

The Analoge Crossover sits on the shelf for the time being, using only the Hypex built in DSP. I've made the change yesterday so I had only little time to listen... but in some tracks it was like "what the f@@ck?? "where did that come from" kinda moments 😀
Which brings me to the next "problem" , Videos taking from the system is so frustrating!! sitting there being ohw struck, then picking the phone and trying to capture it... just to realise that nothing really comes through... the voices in particlure have a great sense of presense especially with the SET amp... through to phone thou, nothing! Then instead of being happy that I can share such moments with the people who seek it, you kinda feel pitiful and lame. which sucks.
But I'll probably coudln't help my self and make a new one. This time with the lowest octave as well 😛
Phone, camera, youtube, videos, all suck the life out of whatever your trying to show.
The only real way is to send the speakers to those that want to hear them.
I volunteer to be first.

Which makes sense... if the tiny mic and micro-cheap analog circuitry in your phone could actually capture full-spectrum audio, no one would invest in $5000 microphones and tube circuits and all the rest...the voices in particlure have a great sense of presense especially with the SET amp... through to phone thou, nothing!
Just send me your adress and you'll get it in Christmas 🎄😉Phone, camera, youtube, videos, all suck the life out of whatever your trying to show.

Sorry if I missed it but what wood have you chosen for veneer for your personal pair? I bet something exotic and expensive 😏
Yep, I will go full veneer on mine... but that's going to take a while. Meanwhile, look what I've found on ebay 😀Sorry if I missed it but what wood have you chosen for veneer for your personal pair? I bet something exotic and expensive 😏

A fully assembled TL1 crossover!
And a side note on veneer. I am afraid it is going to be expensive, especially 2mm walnut veneers, that's why I'm waiting with it, was an expensive project till now and I need to save some money... besides, lifting them and carrying them down the stairs is not something I'm looking forward to 🙄
and with all these angles, applying the veneer will be quite wasteful? And a side note on veneer. wastefull, difficult, and time consumingand with all these angles, applying the veneer will be quite wasteful?
We're all looking forward to it. It's been awesome seeing the development so far.
