30ct if you buy >100
they have a relatively high resistance (ca 1R)
regards
Do you mean 1mR?
What about a symmetrical MoFo?
we could use a mid point secondary of a transformer, currents would flow in opposite direction cancelling the flux
so no need of an air gap
a simple E core or toroidal transformer could be sufficient

Hi All,
I came across ebay.in (India site) auto transformer with 500Watt. and it is cheap.
Auto Transformer 100-300 Volt 500 Watt for Stabilizer, AC Voltage Regulator
I hope it has minimum 50mH inductance. It has 500 turns. Please comment.

I've bought 50 pieces of these caps and measured all from 1.1R down to 0.84R.
but 340mF for 17,5Euros is hard to beat.
cheers

Something doesn’t sound right? You won’t get any energy storage in this to allow output swing greater than Vcc, which is why it is used.
something like this
but only with 2 irfp150 and coil on the negative side like MoFo
Has been discussed in this thread. Is also done with ZV7-T. So yes. Is possible.
I mean the double inductor between the 2 IRFP150 source and negative rail a la MoFo
not on the drain like ZV7-T (where I took the schema from to illustrate as an example)

My feeling says: why shouldn't it work? If you want to be certain just sim it.
done zillion times
Iron Pumpkin is pretty much exactly that , two buffers driving autoformer ....... common mode choke , center tapped choke , call it however you want
Any link or schema of it ?
Cant' find any
I believe that's schematic of Magura's Big Donut amp
sort of "see what I have , correct that for me " schematic ....... few bits and pieces I would do differently nowadays , but there was some sweet music .......

I wanted to go this route. But I was advised to use rather big transformers (to get enough inductance and a low resistance). This is also expensive. Plus you will need to adjust the whole system to a nicely balanced current (as written in ZV7). I don't have this equipment.
So in the end I was lazy and bought a Hammond 159ZC. No regrets.
Yes, I have always liked that Zeus design by Susan Parker. The custom trafos however are hard to get past. Would love to hear that driven with the Aksa Lender pre.

This is interesting though. Use of standard toroidal power trafos for output instead of custom audio trafos.

In the Broskie article is this Zeus amp also mentioned. The special transformers scared me off.
The two schematics I've copied, use normal "choke" like transformers. Easier to get.

zeus with only double choke (toroidal double primary) at the output
no transformer at the input, bias and driving à la MoFo

I would go for a transformer and use the double secondaries (lower resistance). I think the Zeus does this too.
And use a transformer at the input and bias a la F6. You can drive it SE or balanced with this.
Of course you don't have a lot of MoFo left......😛
