Zen Mod, one more question.since this aca will be in a diy chassis and always used as a rca input stereo amp, no mono, bridged, etc. can’t I just wire the output as a regular amp . Reason for asking is the preamp that will be used with this amp is inverting so this amp is inverting, when wired as normal amp, so output then will be non inverting, right?
C2 bootstraps the upper FET gate drive voltage and takes that voltage over the 24 volts of the supply when the output positive peaks approach maximum output.
Reduce the value and the amp will clip earlier. The cap has to be large enough to work down to the lowest audio frequencies. So leave it as it is

Only a parts kit from the store (as far as I know). It's still in the same place too here: https://diyaudiostore.com/collections/amp-camp-amp/products/amp-camp-amp-parts-kit-only
If you only want caps and resistors the parts list is itemised on the build guide (step 1 v1.6) Use 35 volt caps,

Hi Everyone
I built two kits and I LOVE them... question what is the difference between "mono bridged" vs "mono parallel" my layman's guess is the one runs the signal through both sides (Channels?) of the amp in parallel vs running it through one and then the other ? Or am I missing the concept completely.
Also the wiring for using the amps in bridged mono seems to reflect one thing in the picture but another in the description on the plate what are the right output configs for

There's Stereo, and then parallel, which is what you think it is, then balanced where each
channel is driven by inverted signals from a balanced source, and bridged, where there's
one single-ended input and the other channel is driven by the output of the channel which
got that input. The last works because each channel phase inverts.

Ah that makes sense ill play around I have only tried parallel but not bridged yet... parallel had plenty of power for my speakers though...There's Stereo, and then parallel, which is what you think it is, then balanced where each

Wait whaaaat Nelson Pass himself replied I am honoured really enjoyed the experience of building these and the second time I did a much better job... I still need to see if it made an audible difference or just looks much better
Thanks going to try the bridged tonight the parallel sounds great will be really interesting to compare.View attachment 1007017

Mono Parallel
Note the differences in switch position and speaker hookup in both, and the addition of a wire jumper in parallel.
Output will be roughly twice what's for normal ACA, around 10W.Hi.I have LXD75-1400SW001 power supply in my stock. Can i use them for 48v ACA amp? What is output power for 48v aca?And what is idle current? I could not find information.(however i have downloaded schematic but could not find replies now. Thanks
That's if you keep idle current the same, 1.4A.
No point increasing it further because you have to observe the dissipation of the Fets.
24 X 1.4 = 33.6W, for each Fet.

Irrelevant, nothing is absolute, take your pick.Hi. 24v ACA is 8w so it should be around 16 w ?
Better build it and measure it yourself.
A 48V ACA should be about 30W at 8 Ohms, (double the Voltage, 4X the power) but it would need the biggest heat sink allowed by law . Check local regulations, or your wife.
Seriously, it would be better to build it without R15 for a bias current of about 1 Amp, then run two channels in parallel to spread the heat out. A 12V zener regulated supply for Q4, the JFET would be a good idea.

Hi.Thank you for your reply. The power supply is voltage adjustable and Constant current of 1,4A. ( adjustable 27-54v .I read datasheet of LXD75-1400SW001 but i could not understand how to adjust it though ) Maybe it is better to adjust voltage to around 30v. (otherwise there will be very big case and heat, not good for WAF
i believe i have the only built up 48v ACA in the world, for psu, i used 4 bricks of 48v@4A....in a bridged mode, power is ample...power taken from the wall is around 380 watts...
for heatsinks i used the Conrad engineering heatsinks; https://www.conradheatsinks.com/products/index.html
