Thanks
Is not finished I have a lot of work to do, hope to fin ish until Sunday
For the signal connection I found a cable RG316/U Teflon
Any suggestion?

Yes double the current. In my opinion if I would like to make another power transformer it will be like this
Primary 0-220-230-240
Secondary anode 6c33c 0-10-170-200 800mA
Anode 6h8c 6j5 0-290v 250mA
6h8c 6j5 heater 0-6.3v 3A
6c33c heater 0-12.6v 10A
Bias 0-90v 150mA
Inside I would like to arrange the parts like this
If some one have any suggestion I am open for it.
Primary 0-220-230-240

Hi Gabriel,For the signal connection I found a cable RG316/U Teflon
Any suggestion?
RG316/U: silver coated copper, Teflon insulation, "... ideal for data transmission." ...
Do we need any better? 😉
(But... I'm not an expert...)
Cheers,
Hi all,
Gabriel, you wrote:
"In my opinion.... Secondary anode 6c33c 0-10-170-200 800mA [Why 10? And 170-200 means between 170 and 200?"]....
For the rest, I agree. So what if I ask some company to build one like this:
Primary 0-220-230-240
Secondaries: 0-180V 600 mA (800 mA seems to be a very high value--> cost & size) for the anodes of 6c33c (the 2 channels, 2 tubes used in double triode)
0-290V 250 mA for the anodes of 6sn7gt and 6j5gt (2 channels, 4 tubes)
0-70V 150 mA Bias of both channels
0-12.6V 10 A heating of 6c33c (2 tubes)
0-6.3V 3A heating of the 4 other tubes.
Please tell me if you see any mistake on this.
Regards,
José

Hi José,[Why 10? And 170-200 means between 170 and 200?"]....
Why 10 (V) don't know either...
Further, I think Gabriel has in mind two separate secondary windings 170V & 200V (on the same transformer) to "play anode game"... 😉
I'm sure he will explain.
Cheers,
Hi
About the anode windings
0-10-170-200 is made to play with the anode voltage Is one winding with different output voltage
But I make something interesting also I made the primary for 220-230-240 because you can play also with them. All the secondary voltage must be calculate at 230V.
At my home I have 238v my brother has at his home 230V a fried of mine has 220 so is better to have in primary winding 0-220-230-240.

Hi,
After having put the question about the 10V, I remembered the PS diagram from Borbely; they explain why, I understood is something about giving time to the capacitors to charge and use a switch after 2 minutes. Isn't it?
I must say that I am not sure enough I have completely understood their objective. You can also use a temporisation circuitry with one shift (relay).
My second question is about the secondary for Bias: after rectifying 70V, you get something like -99V, so why a secondary of 90V?
Anyway, I am still stocked without the possibility of continue until I find the power transformer. Because sizes, location on the chassis and definitive voltages.
I am very happy with the enthousiasm of Gabriel and I will follow his feedback. I have a great confidence on this project, even if I also heard people complaining about this tube. But, as I said, I prefer a positive mind.
As soon as I can continue, I will give you regular feedback on it.
In the mean time, I will appreciate your feedback and experiences, good or less good.
Regards.
José

Hi Jose
For the 210v I use this module, is about 10USD
AD-044S8 MINI TIMER PROGRAMABIL-ON DELAY - ADELAIDA - Componente electronice
About the sound of the amplifier:
Until now I listen a lot of HI-End components (Accuphase, Luxman, Avantgarde, Ascendo, Neat PMC, Electrocompaniet, Triangle, VPI, Wadia, .and many more, so i think i have some experience with the sound.
This amplifier is unbelievable if you use very good quality components very well checked and also very well selected, with low tolerance. You will be surprised. I buy the parts from this vendors
Farnell / Electronic Component Distributors / Suppliers / Electronics, Electrical Parts, Electrical Components and Wholesale Electronics.
RS Components International
For wima capacitors i use those vendors
Comet Electronics On-Line Shop a Bulgarian company
Electronice online - Metrafo Electronic this is Romanian
Hope you have good speakers at home to feel the music.

Hi Gabriel,
Thanks for this information. I have visited the links you posted and it is funny, I had never seen before, but it appears that I understand more or less all about your writen language. In fact, it looks very close to ancien Spanish and because I have studied Latin 5 years...it helps.
Comming back to the power supply, why is it necessary the Borbely's configuration if you have the temporisation module? One voltage for the 210V would be enough, no?
I have asked a French company about the possibility of building a specific transformer. I wait for the answer.
Now, about the choke, Borbely says 5H 50 Ohms. Have you used these values or 10 H ? from what I read in the forums for tube amps in general, the higher is the value, the best.
Regards.

Hi
The Romanian language is closer to Italian.
I use 5H 300mA 50ohmi choke, some people say that over 2H it is ok.
10H will be to big. In the Borbely configuration you can use voltage for anode between 10v and 200v you have a lot of possibility.

I read through this thread very quickly. I am building a 12HL7/GM70 at the moment. I like the looks of the 6C33C and hope you can post a good detailed discription of the sound quality of your amp. I do need one more amp to drive my woofers after I finish the GM70. This tube looks promising. Somehow, just for looks, (I am an artist) I would like to work in the 5C8S half wave rec tube. Below is a pic of two of them. You can see how they would complement the 6C33C.
Can you link me to your schematic? Cheers.

Hi djn
You can find the link in the post 61.
After i will finish completely i will make a review for this amp. But my first impression was wow. I love this amp, after my brother listen on his speakers he decide to bild one also. He will use C core for output transformers.

Thanks G. This looks like a great amp. I didn't realize it is a PCB board kit. That makes it much simpiler.

Hi,
Thank for the link.
I have visited the Welter Audio Electronic, but unlucky I don't understand well German. I could be interested by a Power's transformer if it matches the requirements, and eventually (even if I have already bought a pair) the OPTs if they are real good quality. But I cannot find the right info in German.
Regards.

Thanks for the link Neustift. I can't read German but I get the idea. I am seriously looking at this tube for my next amp. I would do a PP amp. Any good scheems for PP version???

6C33C - PP-Amp von Ernst Roessler
it is a classic schematic : nothing new from the last 80 years about this but what a delight for listen to the MUSIC !
Just a hint : use Concertina or Cathode Coupled and NOT Paraphase for phase splitting instead .
Or even Williamson schematic with 6c33c at 180V...200V anodic +B 1 and separate 300V anodic +B 2 for the rest of tube.
( 250V it is a little to much for 6c33c )
Will be amazed ..... !
