50w Single-Ended BAF2015 Schade Enabled

starting next year I'm going to build Big Badass SIT SE with THF51-S...
A small SIT and a Puck also has good potential. 🙂

I am looking for a winter amp project and have a few questions. Is the original design at the start of the thread a good sounding amp? Is the layout in post #24 tested and work well? I have a large 1000 va transformer with 33 volt secondaries. Should have DC secondaries of close to 40 volts. Will this reduced voltage work with this design. Thank you for your input.

bummer

going down - major thing would be decreased max power in 8R load

could be even good thing if your intended load is 4R , but in case of 8R .........

you can always unwound finishing secondary to 15V and connect it in series with first , to get 48Vac ...... I believe there must be some leeway in Copper size , to not loose max power of toroid which practically will never be used anyway

I am working on this power amp. Anyboday can share the Capacitor in the power, which brand is better. Also any suggetion for the ouput capacitors?

Below is from Mr.Pass suggestion of the power section

Regulated is nice, but not particularly essential. The PSRR is on the order of
40 dB, so if you want 100 uV of noise at the output, the supply needs less
than about 10 mV ripple. A quick sim shows that two 47000 uF separated
by .5 ohms for the RC filter will get you about 7 mV rms.

@ Adams_Leo

My choice for Schade 50W psu capacitors is RIFA brand 100 000uF | 80V
and outputs is Nippon Chemi-Con brand 10 000 | 50 V

But every decent quality components with adequate voltage rate work fine.
You can bypass electrochemical's in parallel with MKP , MKC or the other non polarised capacitors, is one option 🙂 Enjoy
